The Bee - Westy Zetec super sport
Discussion
So I thought it was about time I contributed something readers car worthy. Recently bought this Westy, wanted to find an antidote to the daily grind and after having driven a friends Westfield at Curborough I just couldn't get my head round the grown up go cart feel around a tight technical circuit, it just felt so alive but also mind bendingly quick and adjustable round the corners.
i was particularly taken by this car as it looked just right (in my opinion), is a factory build, and had clearly been looked after. Also in the frame was the elise / vx220 route but I liked the fact that the Westfield was completely uncompromising and relatively simple to fix if anything went wrong.
I'm now a couple of months into ownership and its lived up to expectations. defintely makes you feel alive in a way that no other car in my experience has done, you've got to be completely on the ball to drive it. This particular car has a quick rack so is very direct, it's running on 13's which I love and help the compliancy. It's running zetec on jenveys circa 160bhp which is plenty in a car like this. So far I've just attending to the consumables and changed all the fluids, protected the chassis etc. I need to get a steering hub extension to bring the wheel in closer but can't for the life of me find the right hub extension! Any advice appreciated.
Anyway hope it's a half decent read
