Hi guys,
So I'm buying off my friend an '04 plate Ford Fiesta Finesse, standard 3 door 1.25 petrol engine. It will be my first car in the UK (until last year I lived in France). There are a few things I have planned for the car just to make it that little bit more enjoyable, but my question is with such a base are there any substantial upgrades that can be done or would I be wasting my time and money, and be better off saving up for something with a little more potential from the get go?

Thanks in advance, all advice would be greatly appreciated!

I love these sorts of threads.

Does No Claims transfer? If so, maybe something a little more unless the finesse is you favourite

I asked and unfortunately it doesn't. Not 21 yet either so insurance is a killer.

That 1.25 litre lump is ripe for supercharging. I think Akrapovic briefly did a full titanium exhaust system for it too.

Just leave it alone.

Unless you really enjoy modifying your cars and you get a real enjoyment out of it just leave them alone until you're in something really nice. Then you'll realise you don't need to mess with it and you'll of saved yourself ££££'s.

They are pretty good out of the box, give it a few weeks. Best upgrade for a 1.25 is a Puma. Get some insurance quotes. Best drivers car under £700 IMO.
