So, after about 3 months of my mini deciding it would rather try and cook itself than complete a journey (yet somehow flew through an MOT), it was probably about time to treat myself to something new. After loosing hours and hours of my life trawling autotrader/pistonheads classifieds, and deciding a caterham probably wasn't a viable option for the daily commute I finally decided on this:

Apologies for my clear lack of photographic talent!
So far loving it, fast enough for me, but still yet to really test it. Tempted to take it for a track day soon too to see if its really as good as people say! And have the Mountune upgrade in the back of my mind, but hopefully can resist for a while...

Love driving my friends Mountune one. Sound its a little artificial but I could live with it. Surprisingly quick and the DSC does a great job of letting you enjoy the car on the limits as its abit less predicable with it off.
I just fitted a Triple R splitter to it which I think finishes the front off nicely.

I've got one!!!! mines fully loaded with literally all the bits! Honestly the car is EPIC, its winning the tests left right n centre and deserves to do so, honestly one of the best cars I've owned. brilliance of the highest order. Latest evo review again some top level newer competitors yet again it comes out on top and clear 5 star vehicle. mine is a definite keeper! The handling, the way the power is delivered, the steering and steering feel, i reminds me of a modern R5 GTT. People are easily extracting 220hp from these and at that power level this would enter road weapon status. Awesome cars and worth all the praise. Ive done some small mods now but ill be adding a LSD and also a stage 1 map. Sadly they are also loved by the car robbers so be careful where you leave it.

The rides all relative really. Coming from a mini on runflats to this, this rides much more comfortably.
An interesting quote, I thought! I had an ST from September through to January and now have an R53 Cooper S, and don't think the Mini is any worse than the Fiesta was!The Fiesta is an amazing car though - congrats, it looks lovely!
OP: May I ask where the wing badge came from please, and why it's only on one side on your car?

Awesome little cars these, and can see why they are hugely popular.
A very good friend of mine has one of these, and last summer I had chance to have a spin / scare him to death on a road I know like the back of my hand.
Its such an easy car to jump in and drive the nuts off, all the while feeling reassuringly solid. Its predictable yet massive fun, great car!
The last car I had in the UK was a 2012 Mini Cooper S, and to be honest both felt great in their own ways. I would have to disagree with comfort though. Even on run flats, the mini felt the more comfortable of the two imo. However, what the ST lacked in comfort it gained in steering feel. The Mini was ok in normal mode, but when in sport mode the steering felt artificially heavy with unnatural resistance. The ST on the other hand felt almost spot on.
Enjoy!

220hp and then someThere are plenty around now with 270hp+ on hybrid turbos and if you go for a bigger turbo then 300hp is easily achievable. Remains to be seen what long term impact it has though

some people hate them i LOVe them, think the really suit the car, i also picked up the ford cli-mair wind deflectors which are bit 80s but really make a big difference to the comfort of the cabin without having to use the A/C or experience buffeting.

Being a ford i noticed the seats aren't wearing too well, so in a bid to keep them looking as good as possible i also purchased these sea covers which were grossly over priced but they are realy keeping them looking like new :-)

270+hp from the 1,6 is asking for problems, id guess 220 is probably a nice compromise and the car would be a total road weapon with that power level. I had a Zetec S with the same size alloys, same tyre size and I couldn't complain, apart from cringing when I hit a pothole
