30yr Edition Ibiza

Hi guys, thought I'd start one of these
This is my 30 year edition Ibiza, in red with black alloys. Loving it so far!

If you were wondering the difference between a standard and a 30 year - its got Xenons, discs all round, black mirrors, different grill, half leather/alcantara seats, and a few others that I can't remember!

Couple of updates since the pics, it's now got wind deflectors, pressed plates and plate surrounds

I've not seen another 30 year edition around locally, the dealer said only around 500 were made, would be good if anyone could comfirm this!

Becuase German Spanish car.

Nice car but lose the pressed plates otherwise you'll have grief from the law. Its the one thing on my car I wont mess about with. Everything else is fair game.

For the relatively small if at all any cosmetic benefit they have the unwanted attention from every cop car you drive past will soon get tiresome. My brother had some on his Lupo, and his BMW after that.... He could never work out why they kept pulling him over for the same reason, the last time he got pulled for it they also found a worn rear tyre and gave him 3 well earned points. Chances are if he'd of had normal plates on he wouldn't have got pulled in the first place.

What engine do they have?

I've not had any attention from the police regarding the plates in all honesty, being in rural Norfolk probably does help!

Engine wise its only a 1.4na but would like to fit a turbo when the warranty runs out

Wtf would you want to fit a turbo to a 1.4NA when you can just buy a top end Ibiza that has all the stuff for the factory?

Why didnt they give it the 1.2 TSI engine i wonder? I've got an FR with the TSI in and its a great fun.

Its a great car and i'm guessing by you wanting to turbo it it's also your first car? Whatever you do, do not turbo it. Absolute and utter waste of money, just buy a 1.2tsi or 1.4tsi version ...? Yes yours is a limited edition but lest be honest, all that means is a few extra trim bits and different coloured alloys, id rather have the extra poke of the 1.4tsi tbh. Just save the money and dont modify it, then buy a cupra version in a couple years.

Ohhh Ok. Well honestly do not waste any money turboing this car, it really isn't worth it. It's what 75bhp now? Turbo will take it to 120ish or so maybe close to 150, what's the point when there's already a version of the same car with those outputs as standard, which can be remapped to take it a bit higher too.

Don't get me wrong I'm not knocking your car, I think these Ibiza's are great and every ibiza generation has IMHO been the best looking of the small hatchbacks. Would be tempted to get a cupra myself but for the lack of reliability from the 1.4 turbo & supercharged engine.

Well that is true I didn't think about that.

Although in around 60 years time when RM auctions are selling the standard versions of these at over £50M (inflation adjusted) due to their provenance, you're going to feel a bit silly for modifying yours.

That said, I dont think in 50 years time people will be wanting to get there hands on a classic 30th anniversary Ibiza.

Its a nice car, just dont throw good money after bad trying to turbo a car that you can already buy a turbo'd version of. Go full retard and fit a 20v turbo lump instead!
