Evening all,

New here, first post. Please feel free to hate me, my car and my entire family.

21 but only been driving a year. Bought the classic first car exactly a year ago; Vauxhall Corsa C SXi. To be fair, still have it and still love it. Despite being very popular, it just seems to have good character, but I guess everyone says that about their first car. Never had a problem...... Until today when I got a £200 bill from the MoT. Oh well. Didn't start learning to drive until I was almost twenty, couldn't really be bothered while I was still at sixth form. Glad I eventually did.

Selling the old corsa soon, to the girlfriends' brother. Couldn't see it go too far. Unfortunately got no decent pictures on my phone of it.

Picked up a new car last month, Honda Civic. The 1.8 Si. 2010. Quite enjoying it, definitely think a good choice for second car. And possibly the best of the FN2 Civics as it has good features inside and out (colour match trim, leather, Bluetooth set, fog lights, etc). The FN2 Type R is obviously quicker, but not really a Type R and completely underwhelming. But I would say that. And I've never driven one.

Took her for a wash yesterday and got really pissed off because the hose scuffed all the bonnet. Seriously, wtf? Bought some of that G3 scratch remover and it is very impressive I though.

Anyway, I've stuck some pictures on I took last week at Honister Pass in the Lakes. The Lake District is one of those places where you think there would be good roads, but really they're all full of tourists in people carriers doing 8mph or sheep. Very few chances to get your foot down. Anyway, let me know what you think. Unless its negative. After browsing the forums for a few days, never seen Honda Civics discussed that much, not even in the Honda section.

Nice car, where did you get the wind deflectors from?

I also have one of these, only had it 4 months, in alabaster silver. I like the contrasting alloy wheels. It goes quick enough for me, good mpg, half leather is lovely, only downside I thought originally was the suspension is hard. I've got used to it now and love it.

Wind deflectors came with. Previous owner was a Honda technician at the place I bought it, and added a few extra bits i.e. deflectors, Honda bluetooth kit.

Not a big fan of the Si wheels tbh. Would like to change them at some point, fancy something black. As for the suspension, I read that it was pretty stiff before I bought it so no surprises there. Wouldn't mind adding a spoiler on at some point, but not the big Type-R one.

Friend has one of these shape, slightly older though and 3 door - Very nice inside and lots of toys to play with.

I went to the slate mine on Honister pass a couple of weeks back. The driving was ruined by tourist coaches griniding to a halt on the inclines, oh and suicidal sheep.

Good choice there, my wife has one and I had several as company cars back then. To me the overwhelming thing with these cars is the 1.8 ivtec engine, I think it is an abosultely amazing piece of kit, refined (ish) economical and powerful and loves to rev. Good luck OP

Attempting Hardknott pass on Tuesday, can't wait (for it to be ruined)!

Good choice for a 2nd car. I have the same car as my 2nd car and I love it. Getting to the stage where I need something a bit more powerful but love it.

Cheers mate. I'm already at that stage really. Once it's out of the Honda guarantee (it's a warranty, but Honda get chuffed calling it a guarantee and it's actually really good) I'm gonna try and squeeze a few more horses out of it. Get the feeling that the engine could very easily give a lot more.

I've kept my stock for 3 years now. I'm getting the itch to up the power but I'm starting with some upgraded brakes soon as it has the power but not the stopping power I like. You'll find that the you'll keep it below 3000rpm normal driving but my god does it love to rev.

Few common faults you'll find that something on the suspension rattles but it's the suspension coil without any lube on it. Plenty of forum posts about it and can be fixed with wd40 and only happens in the summer when it doesn't rain.

Also if you keep it at 73 on the motorway you can get 48mpg out of it which I think ain't bad for a 1.8 petrol

Also if you want to add a parrot device or anything with the dash you have to take the whole of be car apart basically. Haha

Oh and final thing. It doesn't come with a spare type just the filler st.
