After Owning my MK1 Ford Focus RS for over a year now I really can not see myself selling it, It's build number 1884, I have spent not much money on it, it's just had tyres and a Full Engine service, including all fluids and belts, the car itself is in really good condition for it's year, no rust and the underside is clean. I thought after a year of ownership I would be board but I'm not, what you you lot advise I go for if I change??? I have been looking at evo 8s but the running costs seem mental!!! And a MK2 RS would be a nice upgrade but having 20k in a car seems a bit much!!! Ideas???

Keep it. Value can only go up surely?

The MK1 RS is on my dream list. I've slowly worked my way up the MK1 chain, but I think my ST170 will be the last as these are getting further out of reach!

It looks fantastic!

Very nice OP; such a timelessly fantastic looking car. For me, the Mk1 Focus RS and the Alfa 147 GTA represent the very pinnacle of hot hatch styling. We've been going backward ever since.

Has every RS got an 'RSxx' number plate on it? hehe

Nice car. IMO these are one of the best looking hot hatches from recent years. I'd consider one myself but I just couldn't live with interior, which is a shame really.

Lovely!

If you're not bored then definitely don't sell.

I used to have one - went to a VX220 next which I still have. I'd like another RS at some point - mine was a bit rough unfortunately, albeit I rectified most issues in my 2.5yrs with it!

I recall the fuel consumption being biblical with a few go faster bits and a map - hopefully you're getting a few more miles than I was to a tank!

Enjoy.

100% keep it, mine isn't going anywhere any time soon, I plan to be buried in it when I pop my clogs.

I have had similar thoughts to you previously, seriously contemplated swapping for a mk2, but as mine is a 3rd car and only gets used of a weekend I just couldn't justify having a car worth another 8-10k (which would also have had to be financed) sat there not being used often.

Still one of my all-time favourite cars and put a massive smile on my face every time I get behind the wheel rotate

I may well have a photo or 3 of this car from a few years ago, I shall check and report back!

These are still one of my favourite hot hatches. As already said, if you're not bored don't sell. And judging by the prices of some older models, might be worth keeping hold of it for a while.
