Got my new car delivered yesterday, took it for a drive in the pouring rain and got it filthy so cleaned it today and took some pictures smile

It is the 1.2 16v model which is the bottom of the range, but I quite like the engine it isn't so slow that it's annoying but it's a step down in performance from the Juke. It's quite revvy and makes quite a nice interesting noise when you get over 4k RPM hehe I actually really really like this car which I am surprised about as I didn't think I'd really like the engine.

I do have some plans unfortunately, but they are only to lower it 30mm all round, tint the windows a little bit, some wind deflectors and I would like to plastidip the badges black if I ever get round to it.

Nice car, and i like the sound of your plans, especially making the badges black as i don't like all the chrome they are putting on new cars.

That looks quite well inside. I didn't realise they were still running this engine, I thought it was all turbos now…

The 1.2 is the base engine, the OP's spec is Dynamique MediaNav which is the 3rd up out of 4; excluding the GT and RenaultSport.

Also available in petrol is the TCe 90 which is a 3 cylinder turbo unit.

The 1.2 has been around for a long time in various guises and is a very good and strong engine, I should imagine it would be replaced come facelift time; perhaps in a year to 18m time, with something along the lines of the SCe70 that is seen in the Twingo.

Cheers smile Yeah there is a lot of shiny bits on this, but I don't mind them but who knows, if I don't like them black then it's only plastidip and I can peel it off smile

I was surprised to find out it is still pretty much the same engine as the one in the MK2 Clio, but it's a decent enough engine and doesn't seem too slow. I would of quite liked to get the TCe 90, sounds like quite a nice engine and would have had more punch than the 1.2, but I would of had to wait longer for one of them and I am impatient.. hehe

Cheers buddy, hope you're well! What you driving about these days? Still got the Subaru?

Anyway, I spent way too long cleaning the car today and it's the first time I have given any of my cars a proper polish and a wax as after I cleaned it with shampoo and dried it all, it wasn't as shiny as I'd like it to be so spent way too long polishing and waxing it and I got to say I am very pleased with the results! All done by hand too, no hoses or machine buffers, just two buckets, a micro fibre mitt, a big new sponge and several microfibre cloths because I haven't got round to buying anything else at all yet hehe

Got to say, I very very very much like this car.. maybe a bit more than the Juke..

Unfortunately not fella the fact I couldn't drive to see my girlfriend on one tank of v power (£70 at the time!) meant it had to go frown currently ballin' in a 1.2 Punto, 50mpg ftw! Keeping an eye out for a manual 850R wagon though, love a 5 pot burble cool then there's the need for a Fireblade also...

ETA: good work on the cleaning, she looks mint!

Got one of these for the wife.

It's the 0.9 but also the S version of yours, think it gets you bigger wheels, climate control, keyless etc..

It's hard to explain but when you're sat in the car the dashboard looks a lot better than it does in the picture from that angle.

I really like it, much better than the diesel Ibiza it replaced.

I reset the average MPG when I got it, and it now stands at 28.4mpg after 400 miles.. a noticeable difference from the last two cars I've had which were dirty diesels they were the new Peugeot 308 as a courtesy car which did an average of 45mpg and then Juke which did 40mpg. I prefer petrol though.. going to aim to never ever get a diesel again, I like the revvy nature of a petrol engine too much and forgot how much I missed it, I really really like this car!

28.4mpg?

Are you smashing the rev limiter in every gear?

Almost hehe

I have a nice commute and I've just got it, give it a couple of days and I'll be going for high mpg.
