Been a member for years and having done the hot hatch thing have now moved into something very silly and thought some of you might be interested in it. There doesn't seem to be too many Loti in here so here we go;
Lotus Exige S Touring

I bought the car in July this year (£27,700 for those of you who like me are nosey) from a chap near North Wales having not driven the car lol (it was raining so happily sat as a passenger) drove it 3hrs home to Surrey and loved it straight away.
It was the first one I saw, it was almost the right spec bar the performance pack- just out of budget in Exige form.

On track at Silverstone with Pistonheads Sunday Service- excellent day.

This picture puts the tiny size in context:

Already in place when i purchased the car; Tillett Carbon seat, momo steering wheel and Luke harnesses- such a great addition and I'm glad they were already bought! Luckily the sellers wife didn't like track days so he only got the one seat, which suits my partner down to the ground haha.

Where to start really...it has a Toyota Celica derived 1.8 engine which is then Supercharged to 219hp. It is complemented by a Hanger 111 Sports Exhaust 95db and Hurricane induction kit. R888 tyres all round which are utterly fantastic...in the dry. It's loud, noisy and a bit yobbish - I love it!

It does 0-60 in 4.1 seconds, so easily, the clutch is so workable, the gear change like loading a rifle bullet, and it just pulls so hard. 100mph in 10secs too which are the same stats as a V8 R8!

Just added a set of Union Flag decals which I'm not entirely happy with as they need to be more slanted so they'll be replaced after Xmas when my buddy is free to design them up.

Unfortunately it's had poor prep work on the front when being resprayed at some point so after just one outing with my car fwends it's looking very pebble dashed at the front, so much so it needs the front clam painting and armour fending which ain't gonna be cheap! It'll have to be postponed until next year, but should be top notch after that.

That's all I can think of for now, thanks for reading!

Matt

Nice, don;t see many in that colour.

Stone chips on the front is common, I had mine armourfended - well Ventureshield but it is the same type of stuff - and it worked a treat. Others think it is better to respray a few times but each to their own.

260 'factory' upgrade is available for about 2K, add a deccent intercooler and get closer to 280. 220 still feels plenty quick though

True and it is a very nice car, but, similar performance can be had for a third of the price (VX220 SCd)

Superb. I quite like the pebble dashed front end look, makes it look like it's used properly.

Never seen an Exige in that colour, but suits it well.

Any chance for more of those union jack decals once you get the redesigned and such?

So cool. I've got so much more respect for these now having previously only looked at them 'on paper' so to speak, and whilst it's quite far away from yours my father recently bought a 111S which is just ridiculous fun. Can't imagine what it would feel like with 60 more horses and (presumably) gobs more torque! It's scary enough as it is!

Love the stickers. Not so keen on the front end design on these versions mind.

Thanks for the comments guys, really pleased with it just wish it would fast forward to spring- was meant to be at Bedford a couple of weeks ago and fog stopped play all day, won't bother with another TD until the weather clears up.
The colour is quite rare as far as I have seen, it's Persian Blue.

Samjeev; decals, of course, I'll get him to make up a few sets and let you know the cost- do you have the same spoiler? The plan is to make them without the blue and instead use the blue of the paintwork iyswim.

That's very nice, looks like a great spec. I'm hoping to get one similar in the spring, but I doubt I have the budget for a supercharged one. Bedford is my local track so maybe I'll see you there!

That is true but I would take this over a VX220, even with the extra cost, any day, still, each to their own otherwise it would be a pretty boring place biggrin

I had a VX220 and am saving for a Lotus Exige / Caterham. VX220 feels and looks cheap compared to the Lotus

Mine looks great (red) and sounds epic (lots of pops and bangs from exhaust). Goes well too (255bhp/210+ft lbs torque) but I also find myself looking at exiges/caterham/evora.

The difference in build quality is very noticeable... my VX220 is built like an S1 and always has something falling apart. The post 06 Lotus's are solid and refined in comparison. I can't agree that they look cheap though... I think they look great!

Doesn't bother me that much that the dash and doors are always falling apart. The car is for driving and delivers this very well.

Sorry for the late Reply smile forgot I had responded to this lol
Yes I got the same spoiler on my Vx220, its a bit love/hate on our cars but it fits quite well and gives it a nice aggressive look in my opinion.
The changes sound ideal as my car is blue as well!

let me know if it happens
