I sold my Project 190. It was fun but I have wanted a W140 S-Class since I was twelve, I collected it on Christmas Day ..

Really jealous! Interested to see how the 'performance' is being the entry level model. I have been looking at S320's for ages and more recently CL140's and W215 CL's but can't decide which to go for. These are definitely the cheapest and simplest.

Love the colour combo, mileage and history!

This does look good in black - and looks to be in excellent condition too. I haven't driven the S280, but the S320 goes far better than you'd think, so I imagine the 280 has enough performance to glide about nicely. They're not sports cars!

I really like that, a proper colour for a W140. Interestingly with modern cars looking like they do and being the size they are, the W140 doesn't seem as massive as it once did.

I bet the 280s a nice cruiser with fairly reasonable economy. I bet the ride is fantastic.

What's the 'project' part? Very low miles at least, so congratulations.

Wow, that is very tidy, are you going to replace the number plates as they seem to draw the eye, otherwise it is perfect.

Chromed eek They look diamond cut to me in the photos but I think they will look better in plain silver.

Will you be fitting an S600 grille too? biggrin

Do let me know when you decide to move it on wink

Are they diamond cut as well? It's a nice finish but tricky to look after. The wheel design is also quite different!

How do you go about insuring these things? Trade policy?

Yes, there were diamond cut but I had them powder coated in chrome and lacquered as pictured - its much easier to look after than diamond cut and not too expensive at BJV Engineering.

Do you have any other photos of the wheels on the e350 after they were done by BJV?

I fitted the copy plates and holders, the central locking pump doesn't work so I'm getting it refurbished by W140.co.uk ..

Hello there!
Welcome to the club, recently got myself into a S280 of a similar vintage, here's hoping yours will treat you as well as mine has so far!
It certainly looks very smart the Eltatin wheels look great on these (I'm still on 8 holes). Wonder if they have affected the ride much?

Happy motoring!

Cheers, A
