Love it, used to rag to death my Dad's Mk5 Estate when I first past my test!
I know its not period correct but would like to see it lowered by at least 100 mm
It probably would look good lowered but i want to keep it standard in every way once the wheels and louvre are removed.I know its not period correct but would like to see it lowered by at least 100 mm
Absolutely love it. Looks great in white. Have you got the original ford steel "rostyle" wheels??
Was this the one that for sale on ebay a couple of months ago??? that one was at (went for) really strong money.
Have a thing for Mk4 cortinas probably going back to when My old man had 2 Mk4's during the late 70's as his company cars. Seem to recall the launch was around at the end of september 1976 (29th I think - my bday is the 30th) My dad picked up a gold 2 litre GL mid October, then the next one was a 2 litre ghia auto that peaked with a seized engine at 125000 miles and 3 years old - the day the Sierra was launched in 1982. Remember him coming home in a red Sierra 1.6 L five speed!!!!!!! that night - had it a couple of months and he hated It.
Would love a 2.3 'S' manual - guess they're like gold hens teeth though now!

That's fantastic! I have an idle obsession with the S model because as a kid I had brochures with them in (still do...) but never actually saw one on the roads in real life. To date I think I've only actually seen one in the metal and that was only a fleeting glimpse so I couldn't be sure!
that's class that is,had a few of These after passing my test ,started with a beige mk4 ,then a green mk 5 with the obligatory different colour boot ,I then bought my mates champagne gold mk5 1.6 l in good nick ,I put ghia interior and trim ,2.0 engine and rostyle wheels .then on a visit to scrap yard I saw these yellow shocks on a cortina on closer inspection they were spax adjustables ,I asked owner how much for cortina shocks ,didn't tell him what they were "tenner" bit of spannering later happy days ,it was like driving a go cart with them cranked up full,
,anyway sorry for the hijack that is a smart car ,seeing this has brought a lot of memories back, cheers thanks for sharing
