Alfa Romeo GT 2.0 JTS Distinctive Selespeed

Hello All,
I have been a steader, albeit silent reader the past couple of weeks and I have to say the amount of awesome cars here is simply breathtaking.
I have decided to get in on the act and post my own litte car.
First of all, some Information about myself, I am 23 years old born and raised in Germany and currently living in Turkey.
My car history is quite brief so I will quickly summarize it.
My first car was a 2002 Skoda Fabia 1.4, grey, no options whatsoever. Bought in September 2010 and sold in December 2010.
In that three months, the alternator and belt failed, it leaked all of its oil out in one day, the thermostat died and the timing chain got loose.
On and the front right spring cracked.
That went well.,
5 years have since past and I am now in posession of my second car.
An Alfa Romeo GT, in my opinion still one of the prettiest Coupes around.
Searched a good 3 months for the right car and finally found it in the classifieds.
I would have loved to go for the 3.2 but Tax and insurance are stupidly expensive here in Turkey so I settled for the 2.0JTS.
And now, pictures.

I have to say it takes a litte to get used to it since it isnt a "real" automatic gearbox with torque converter.
At the core it is the same 5 speed manual you get in the...manual, only that there is a hydraulic unit on top of it for the gearchanges and the clutch.
So the car does not creep when you take your foot of the brake.
But once you get used to it it is a treat. It has a "City" function in which the gearchanges are done by the computer based on speed and throttle position. You can obviously change gear using the "stick" or the paddles on the steering wheel.
In sport mode and above 4500-5000rpm with more that 70-80% throttle applied the gearchanges are properly quick for a 10 year old semiautomatic.
All in all I have to say I am pretty happy to have chosen this over the manual.

I like it, looks like whoever bought it new ticked every option box too with top spec seats, bose and sat nav. Those 3 options all in one car is not easy to find (certainly here in the UK anyway). Good luck with it!

I have to admit the Sat Nav unit is an Chinese aftermarket one. Although it blends in beautifully into the interior.
The only thing missing on the spec sheet are heated seats. Everything else in on it, Xenon, Cruise Control etc.
The seats are wonderful, I have to say I dont know from memory if they are an optional extra but for me, they are as comfortable as any seat I've been in. (not counting big luxury saloons)
Of course the car is quite a bit left field but it is a worthwile option to the usual Coupes like E46, CLK etc.
Especially if you are lucky enough to get one with that beautiful, soulful Arese 3.2

Lovely. I too ran a 2.0 Selespeed for a year or so, but with teledial alloys and red leather, loved every minute of it! It really was a head turner, in fact the young lady at the local petrol station said she much preferred it to the 911 that replaced it!
And a big bonus for me was that it had three belts in the back for all my kids to get in!
