Anybody got a car that's had an interesting engine swap? Like an M5 engine into an M3 or a S2000 engine into an Elise? Chevy V8 into an Esprit? Trying to gather a group for possible magazine feature.

Plenty of people have put Honda engines into Elises (but the Civic Type R's K20A, not the F20C)

A mate of mine has put the Honda S2000 engine into a Westfield.
It was an expensive conversion (engine alone over 2k) but well worth it!!

Don't know if you have seen Practical Performance Car mag. It's run by a couple of blokes who used to work on Practical Classics. It's full of cars with weird & wonderful engine swaps. In past editions they have had a Mini with a Rover V8 mounted transverse keeping front wheel drive mated to a Princess box, Nissan 200ZX engine in a Mazda RX7, Beetle fitted with a Subaru turbo charged engine.......the list goes on.
The editor, Will, has a MK1 Capri with a small block V8 (I got to drive this once....it's a beast), Kevin has loads of cars, some standard, some modded. One he is working on now is a Volvo P1800 that he is fitting with a 5 cylinder turbo charged Volvo engine.
Not long ago they signed up a guy on to the staff who has a Rover SD1 & he's fitting.......wait for it..........a 27 LTR METEOR ENGINE !!!!! He has made he's own fuel injection using 24 injectors!
The mag is full of information on engine swaps & upgrades (building your own fuel injection using parts from the scrap yard, how to convert to dry sump, details on the Megasquit, etc). For all us petrol head's it's a great read.

I've built a couple of specials in the past, cossie turbo capri, cossie 24v capri and xr4x4, and my favorite a rover v8 powered MK1 capri.

i have also converted a couple of 4 cylinder capris to power steering and done the usuall suspension and brake upgrades (self sourced and adapted!)One of the last ones I did was featured in Performance Ford magazine, cant remember when, it had a base model KA on the front cover, the capri JLX 45V was in very bright orange.

I'm planning another V8 Capri Mk1, if i can find a suitable car to start with

In my dark and distant past I did a conversion on a 1984 Opel Manta GTE saloon, and put a Rover 3.9 V8 into it!
I also drove a VW Passat estate last year that had been fitted with the Audi 2.7t unit! That was a very quick load lugger!!
