Ovlov v40 eBay "special"

Heya guys,

Seen this on eBay for sale fairly local to me..
After a quick message I collected the below at a most agreeable price..

Sold as spares and repairs due to 2 snapped front springs and a dead ball joint.

Plans are to get her back to working use and see if I can get her running on some home made bio diesel.

Without further delay the pics..

suspension parts can be relatively expensive but it's an awesome car and will run forever if well looked after

Well Done, £100 is great. Old Volvos are the best, an entire car for the less than the cost of a Diagnostic Check at a Main Dealer :-)

An issue I have come across is the dials not working ... but are flashing like this..

I've been working a lot recently so progress has been slow

Had a potch yesterday

First of all was the brakes... I couldn't believe how bad they were... They were the worst ones I've ever come across..





The calliper cariers were welded with rust on.. There is pretty much no bolt head left for me to get onto ... Seeing as though it was getting late I just stuck with doing the pads and will do the discs another time... It's not going for its mot until I do the springs anyway..

Up next was a clean of the mouldy seats... I think they came up decent with only a quick clean



A quick look over the engine bay and everything is looking good... Bosch fuel pump win... This was the main reason I went for this car

The car was also running a little low on electricity ... A quick jump start and check of the alternator and all seems well

I was wearing gloves.. I went through 2 pairs within the first few mins due to the sharp rust tearing them.... Nothing a bit of sawfeger can't fix

Wear the blue nitrile rubber ones. Much better.

I do this all day, and the amount of 'action' in the bedroom is inversely proportional to the dirtyness of hands.

Mind you don't suppose you fancy it at the mo....

I'm still a little tender but recovery took longer than I first though

A little more work update on the ovlov project..

Going over what would be the MOT fails and discovered both passenger doors wouldn't open from the inside.. took the door inners apart and after a little tighten of the little yellow thingy and both doors now open on the inside perfect. Best part this fix didn't cost a single penny.





Another job this evening was the wiper washers not working.. got the multi meter out and it shows the pump is at fault. New one on order
