Honda Civic Type S

So with the acquisition of a new job requiring more motorway miles I decided a new hack was needed. Previous car was an MG Zs which was great because it cost peanuts, was great fun to steer through corners and never let me down once! Will miss it sorely 
Back on topic. More motorway, so better economy and comfort / refinement being major tick boxes (not something i'd of linked up with the new one before I drove it). Oh, and no diesel. Would rather walk.
New steer is a Honda Civic Type S 2011 1.4 i-VTEC. FHSH and nicely finished off with half suede leather seats, soft touch plastics, brushed metal and fabric covered door cards. Even has little attentions to detail like a leather padded section against the centre console to rest your leg when not operating the clutch!
Probably not the most PH of cars but it's still rather entertaining if you leave your right foot planted for longer than is really deemed necessary. The 6-speed box helps out with economy massively and it's surprisingly refined on the motorway for a small engined petrol, 3 runs from Leigh-on-Sea to Hemel Hempstead and back and it's returning 51mpg. Normal duties will only see 15 miles a side on the A127 so am expecting it to drop a little but currently chuffed with my purchase. Being only 21 and 3 years no claims means I was kind of limited somewhat so I think I've got a good result! I'll try and post something worth more man points when the insurance bill doesn't infringe on my savings for a house deposit.

5 doors and a bit more grunt and this would be an excellent all round family motor. The boot is so methodically thought out with harness points, hidden cubbys and straps.
I must admit, the old 'Honda reliability' stereotype did creep in when this one popped up. Which was another reason for the purchase. There is a Type R down the road from me which you could always hear powering off first thing in the morning. Would like!

Can't comment as haven't been near or inside a 5 door. There is bags of room for adults in the back though and the seats come forward a fair way so it's no struggle getting in or out. Only downside i've found is the seats don't remember their old positioning, can be a tad annoying having to reset seating position each time you pick up passengers. 95% of the time it's only myself in the car so this isn't really something that concerns me too much.
According to the Sat-Nav, 73 mph speedo reading is 70 mph actual. Once cruising and settled it's reading around 3,000RPM give or take a little. Very well planted and sound proofed though, you don't really notice the engine regardless of speed. Will go at 80 mph without feeling like it (80 in this feels like 60 did in my old car).
