Volvo XC90 R-Design Heico Tune: A new adventure for me

Hi All and a special Hello to fellow Volvo owners
To accomodate children and their wishes as well as mine I grabbed up a Volvo MY2009 XC90 R-Design with Heico Tune, Navigation, Reversing Camera, Telephone, Sunroof, Full Leather, Removable Towbar, Roofrack, Cargo Net separator, a full set of Volvo Winter and Summer wheels (all for me), and full dual-screen factory fitted Rear Seat Entertainment (for the kids).
The Heico tune gives it 10% more power, documented as 204 horses instead of original D5244T4 engine's quoted 185 horses.
The previous owner was a OEM fanatic: every little piece of after-sale kit bolted on is all 100% original Volvo OEM: the cargo net, the roof racks, the reversing camera.
Did 550 km to Innsbruck and back this week without missing a beat, 8.1 L/100km (35 MPG) for the journey.

Good as the XC90 is as a family car even the late models with many of the bugs squashed are not a particularly cheap thing to keep running in tip top condition. Even taking out all the bling that the thread author spent money on his per mile cost was sky high, 50p per mile all in. For comparison including fuel, tax, insurance and all maintenance costs my C70 D5 works out as 26p a mile, and that is over serviced and has lots of pre emptive maintenance to keep it driving well. Neither of those figures include depreciation btw. My neglected V70 T5 is around 19p a mile with a lot of city driving. Mostly because all it gets is fuel and tyres and the odd oil change.
Of course many owners don't keep them in tip top condition and let them descend into knackered shed territory.

I looked at one of these, with some kind of remap (Polestar?) but the interior was very tired for a four year old car with 45k KM on the clock. I guess that's par for the course looking for an XC90 in Thalwil where they're all used hard as family buses and weekend ski trip hacks.
That's decent economy for something so big. I really like the new XC90, I think that or the V90 might well be our next family car when I finally admit the Evoque is too small.

Any pics of your Volvo? Winterthur isn't an area I'm massively familiar with, there's a lot more of the country I need to explore, I seem to only spend time around the Zurisee, Obersee and Glarus/Graübunden when there's skiing to be had.

I'm much more Kiwi than Swiss. Didn't ski much this year but looking forward to some AWD snow driving....Graubünden is great for mountain biking - my Summertime hobby
Only pics so far was to help diagnose a steering pump seep / leak, posted on another forum... boring
Just ordered my CanBusExtender to add some extra functions and am looking at adding in some extra interfaces for the rear seat entertainment.... but focussing first on getting to know the car. A bit like having another child - a stranger at first and then you grow to love them... !
