Hi all,

I picked up my Griffith 500 on Saturday, this is my first ever TVR as well, Thrilled with it! It was from the PH classifieds, Certainly a credit to its previous owners, lovely condition with lots of paperwork and history. The pearlescent white looks fantastic in the sun, and its lovely to see the lines of the car still. I'm not sure what exhaust is on it, but it sounds fantastic! seems to be why my first tank of fuel has gone so fast..
The acceleration is hysterical, I was gripping so hard from the drive I've just been on my hands ache.

I have joined the TVRCC and plan to get along to as many meets as I can, I'll be taking it along to Le Mans Classic as well which I'm really looking forward to.

Heres some photos after my first drive today with the roof off.

James.

Just bought this one last Friday from Chris & Sue in Harrogate. I sold my last 500 (Imperial Blue T928KKM) back in 2009 after 8 years as my daily driver....). Back then I needed the parking space as my campervan hire was expanding. Last year I was waiting until I sell my campervan hire business before rewarding myself with another Griff.

Now decided life is too short and I need to build up my left leg muscles...

The car's looking and sounding fabulous!

Is this the normal position for the front plate of these? Blocking off 90% of airflow to the rad.

Yep smile

Although non-standard vented bonnet will help with some of the residual heat hehe

Fitting a smaller front plate makes a huge difference to the cooling on mine and looks better. No-one has ever remarked on it in the 10 years it has been on. Stays on fine with a strip of velcro. I also have a vented bonnet that I will get fitted at some point.

Brother in law had one of these back in the late ninety’s, took me for a drive in it soon after it arrived, still memorable all these years later, that noise and the acceleration, just epic!

Smaller front plate has been on my "to do" list for years - especially as we have a 6 digit plate on the car.

Sadly, previous owner(s) have been someone over zealous with the self tappers (a pet hate of mine are screwed on plates on any car) and the front plinth looks like Swiss cheese rolleyes so will need some TLC first.

Welcome, and enjoy!

My ol' precat had a smaller plate velcro'd above the itsy-bitsy-tiny mouth

I used to have an Elise and a Chimaera and always tried to mount the plate as out of the way as possible for any cooling issues
