After enjoying reading about all sorts of others cars, I figured I ought to start a thread about mine.
The E34 I've had for a smidge over 9 months and has been a fun project after I finished university. I'll list what's been done and what remains to make it a better car, it's by no means been cheap but I love it and it should last me a good while after being bought for a good price.
Apologies for the awful phone pics, I'll try to get some better ones soon.

The A6 I picked up yesterday after a short train journey to Oxford, had a great chat with the owner and even got a car full of spares with it. The A6 was acquired to take me and 3 mates round the Two Ball Banger Rally and France on the way back. It's got a few minor niggles I'll need to sort before the road trip but after doing ~150 miles in it yesterday its a great cruiser with a hint of the 5 cylinder warble.

There's not much I haven't replaced, repaired or fiddled with on the E34 but thankfully the rust is minimal after being under-sealed at least twice in its life according to the history. I've fully replaced all the bushings and dampers for the suspension, splashing out on B8 dampers after I couldn't get BMW sport dampers for a reasonable price. Which make it great fun to hussle around the place, even testing the LSD on roundabouts occasionally.

I've fully serviced all fluids, brakes etc and had the top of the engine apart about 4 times for the Vanos seals, general clean ups and chasing niggles. Finally I've replaced the headlining, a few door seals and other aesthetic parts. To it's credit it flew through the mot yesterday with no advisories so I was in a great mood on the way down to view the A6.

It's even been round Silverstone national circuit (albeit slowly but entertainingly fun) on the Pistonheads SS where I was black flagged for black smoke (Vanos seals decided they had had enough).

To improve it further I need to sort out:
Torn and sunk driver's cloth seat.
Rust patch in rear wheel well.
Rust on sunroof.
oil leak on engine head (will be a head off job so that's getting ignored for now).
Re-wire radio after I cut it out in the removal of 3 phone systems.
Door card replacement (low priority)
Gearshift linkage above gearbox.
Find and solve the rear rattle I have
Fully service again this summer.

The A6 is a diesel estate and FWD but we decided that whatever we took round europe needed to fit four and have some quirk to it (5 cylinder will do). As much as I love the UrS6 and UrS4 they were well out of budget for the rally (I will have one at some point!). I'd seen it advertised on retro rides for a good while and eventually decided to jump on it.

To sort out before the rally I need to:
Service it, all fluids and filters.
Replace drivers mirror housing (spare provided).
Re-gas the aircon/test it.
New tyres.
Thermostat replacement as it's stuck open.
Give it a good check over.
Decide on the theme for the car for the rally.

That pretty much covers it. Forgive the poor grammar and formatting, I'm shattered after moving house today.
I'll try to keep the thread up to date and get some better pictures.
