It's alright it's not a lease question thread again!

So my Audi A3 3.2 is going soon, somewhere to someone or webuyanycar
But more interestingly, I've just put a deposit on a golf r
Can't wait to pick her up on Tuesday evening.
Here's a couple of pics
Got some plans but subtle rather than balls out
The wheels have just been refurbed but I don't like black on black so they'll be going. A little lower and we'll see from there
Excited, giggity
I've been in the look out for a while and this has everything I wanted and more
Dsg heated recaros sunroof
And it's got a fantastic kenwood VW dab stereo garmin thing!

Prefer the look of these, nicer exhausts & wheels. These have kind of gone under the radar a bit compared to the latest R, I guess at the time these were out leases weren't as popular, now it seems everybody is leasing!

Enjoy!

You checked the mot history ? Previous fails includes wrong size tyres on the same axle. Make sure you give it a proper check over.

Not good it failed its first MOT in 2013. Tread carefully and if you can, have it fully inspected.

The Golf R is a terrific car so I hope you really enjoy it.

Switch off the stupid artificial noise though.

Do these ones have artificial sound? Well if they do it's very good.

Very nice OP - these are great looking cars (better than the Mk7 in my opinion). To have the wingback buckets included is a big bonus.

However...

Going on the MOT history, I would make the assumption that it hasn't seen a huge amount of love; it's consistently had issues highlighted with its tyres and that's often a good place to start in judging whether a car has been treated well or not (it's a very easy place to skimp on maintenance). Maybe the owner has just been unlucky however I would be cautious.

Also, is the exhaust standard? The tips look to protrude slightly further than the OEM system does however it might just be the camera angle.

Looks like the same Kenwood upgrade I got for my Octavia. DNX51DAB or something similar?

It's a good system but bloody complicated and I'm yet to work out the process for getting the sat nav updated!!

For having a bulge on one of its tyres?

that and advisory for :

both rear tyres cracked/perishing

how many 3 year old cars have cracked/perishing tyres ? not many I know of.

Ok. I think he gets the point!

Nice car OP. What's the artificial noise all about, these things seem to make a decent enough noise on their own, certainly the few I've seen being driven hard anyway.

Was just thinking earlier if I ever got a 7R I'd have to put the 6R exhaust on there! If it was possible smile

It's an R20, as it has a 2.0 litre engine as opposed to the 3.2 in the R32s.

I get the point with the tyres, it's had a full and comprhensive VW service history, I don't about the mismatched tyre which would be bad for the diff, I can't imagine you'd drive long like that but then there are some idiots in this world.
I gave it a thorough check and it all appears good new brakes etc,, everything matches the tyres are Michelin pilots with about 6mm
At least I'm aware of it now.

It's definitely an R the 3.2 r32 finished with the mkV
Picking it up tomorrow so I'll update from the side of the M1 when it's fked!

It's a real shame VW didn't stick with the central exhausts for the Mk7. They had become a staple after the Mk5 R32 and the Mk6 R. Now they've put quad pipes on the 7 and Porsche has taken up this exhaust config for the new 911. You'd think it'd be the other way round...
