Yes I've noticed this too, but 'i' models in general. See plenty of new 3 and 4 Series with about half being petrol. Seems they are selling rather well now! ChrisR99 said:

It's because the new turbo fours are much better than they used to be. The four cylinder petrol engines in the E90 were weak and gutless, and as result the 318d/320d was the default choice for a lot of people (me and my wife included), even if they didn't do massive mileages. Good to see BMW offering decent turbo fours to take the fight to Audi/Merc.
Interesting thread. I am going to change my 120D Sport Xdrive soon and have been looking at 3 series. Big debate is between 320D and 320i doing around 12000 miles per year. The 120D is a stonking car but I need something a little larger and more refined. Will be interesting to see what MPG the 320i Sport achieves.
I had a 320i SE as a courtesy car a couple of weeks back while my F31 320D M sport was in for a service. The comparison was interesting. The engine was much smoother and more refined than my car, but also notably lacking in torque compared to the diesel. The ride on the smaller wheels and standard suspension was unsurprisingly better than my car with its 19" wheels and stiffer set up, but not by as much as I expected. Two thing I really didn't like though: first the standard seats felt really flat and unsupportive compared to the superb m sport seats (guess the Sport has the same ones?); and second it felt a bit soft and wallowy in the corners. Still a very nice car and some will no doubt genuinely prefer the softer ride and petrol to an m sport diesel, but I was glad to get my own car back. Nice colour BTW!
Looks great in that colour, I was tempted when I ordered mine on Tuesday, I've gone for mineral white with black leather with red trim. Almost picked the red leather though.
Mine will be the diesel efficient dynamics though, as I do 35k a year will see how it compares to my c220 Mercedes I've had for the last 3 years.

If you search on BMW approved you will find very few 2015> 320I !dme123 said:

I've only done 150 miles so far so not pushed it yet as the manual says not to go over 4500 rpm for 1500 miles and no lauch control! so have to wait, lol
