First ever lease car
Discussion
Have never leased before, so went with a safe option. But here it is after a quick hose down after the chap drove it down for us from Leeds. Obviously no plans other than to chuck some SRP over the paintwork and enjoy some worry free motoring for 2 years. Was considering getting it remapped at some stage, but i guess that would be a no-no when handing the keys back? It's not a PCP so no option of buying at the end..
Best thing about it so far, it fits my golf clubs in

Very nice!! I'm looking at these next.
If you don't mind me asking, what sort of lease deal did you get and where from?
This is where we got it from but for quite a bit cheaper than they're currently spitting them out for now.If you don't mind me asking, what sort of lease deal did you get and where from?
We are paying £236 a month for 2 years with 3 months up front and annual mileage of 10k.

Since the facelift came out I've been after one of these. Instead of PCP'ing one of these I endud up buying an impreza instead.
Always thought it was a bad decision!
Thats a very good price though, hows the fuel economy? How long did you have to wait until you got it?
It's the diesel and currently it has about 200 miles on so hard to say until it's run in a bit. Currently getting around 50mpg, supposedly we should see around 65. Between signing documents it took about 4/5 weeks to delivery. Always thought it was a bad decision!

Nice car btw. Think the st looks cool in this colour. Nice to see a colour! Better than the usual silver / black / white etc.
Are there any pitfalls in leasing. I'm thinking of doing this myself. I currently pay £245 / mth for a bmw 5 series which is on a 58 plate. Looking at that lease company I can get one for £300 / mth. With the lease looks like the road tax is included whereas I put £20 / mth away for mine. So all things considered it would cost me an extra £35/mth for a brand new car, or am I missing something?
Also do extras on the car add much to the monthly cost, looking at fitting around £2000 of extras?

Just be aware, at the end of the deal, you won't own the car. If you fit extras, then the price will increase slightly i think. But worth giving them a call to get a quote. There were no pitfalls for us, other than not actually owning the car. Also, the companies base the prices on fixed mileage, if you go over, you get charged. Think ours is 9p per additional mile. Are there any pitfalls in leasing. I'm thinking of doing this myself. I currently pay £245 / mth for a bmw 5 series which is on a 58 plate. With most leases you will pay the full cost of any extras over your lease period. Therefore for a rough idea just divide your £2k in extras over however many months you are looking at leasing the car for and add this to your standard monthly cost. Are there any pitfalls in leasing. I must say 5 series come very well equipped as standard though.

Definetly get the stealth grey, had mine for 5 months now and I was unsure at the start but I love it now. It makes the car stand out but not in your face like the tangerine scream.
I do like it as its so different but I think its better suited to the hatch over the estate. The mrs hates the estate and I like the stealth grey....so I'm convincing myself into a hatch as it'll be big enough for 99.9% of the time anyway. Plus the hatch is a bit cheaper each month too....
Think I'll get a hatchback as its a much nicer looking car
