Farewell 991, awaiting 718....

I'm sure some of you will think I am mad, but the 991 GTS is gone, and a 718 Cayman S is on order.
It was a good time to jump out of the 991 without much loss at all, I've enjoyed it immensely having put 12k on it in a year, but I hate losing money on cars, and a year is about my limit in any case!
I never intended to get a Cab, but the offer came up for this one which was a demo in a great colour. It went like the clappers, but one of the issues I found is its bloody hard to exploit the performance and keep within speeds that wont get you sent to prison! The car got more compliments from people than any other car I have ever owned. I think the 991 cab is the first 911 cab that has looked just as good as the coupe, as the roof follows the correct line (to my eyes).
Prior to this I had a 3.4 981 Cayman S pdk, and I have to say, whilst the 991 was of course quicker, the Cayman fills with more confidence and handles better IMHO. Inside, with both cars having had full leather they are as near as damn it identical. My wife and I are lucky enough to have 2 other cars, so I had no need for the rear seats in the 911 and I think someone got folded in there once and refused to do it again!
With a change of jobs, it works well for me to be out of an expensive car for a few months to regroup, so the fact the Cayman wont be here till around October suits me fine. When you look at a new 991 Carrera S, with a few bits you are easily at six figures. Even with a very generous amount of spec, the Cayman S I have ordered is nearly 40k cheaper....
To the elephant in the room; 4 cylinders, I had a great extended drive in a 718 Boxster S, and loved it. The engine of course sounds different, but to my ears not bad at all. Steering, brakes, mid range, navigation are all greatly improved.
Have ordered the 718 in manual, really looking forward to it.

It's always interesting to see the cost of options.
Worth it, really makes a difference to the interior IMO.

Clearly porsche options are a "If Sir has to ask, Sir cant afford" kind of situation then..
EDIT: just checked the porsche configurator, specced a Carrera 4 S Convertible, was presented with a 806 quid option for painted airvent slats
