Hi all,

Ive recently had a Discovery 4 TDV6 and started looking for range rover sports. I've just taken delivery of a new to me 2010 Range rover sport TDV8, so far I'm very impressed, seems to sound fantastic (for a diesel) and gets not too bad MPG too. Handling wise, very impressive, it has the adaptive dynamics suspension and handles better that it should considering the size.. It has another dynamic mode on the terrain response which I've not tried yet. I may get the car remapped at some point in the future, love how it looks though so will keep it that way.

I got rid of my tdv8 a few months ago. I had it three years and stuck about 60k on it. Great engines. Best Diesel engine I've driven. I think the previous owner remapped mine. The thing really surprised me in the snow and off road.

I got the AMG itch so it made room for a c63. I'd have another but probably the 5ltr next time. I like that you haven't chavved yours up!

Glad you know about the turbo issue. Mine failed at about 90k. I had the alternator fail also. Anti-roll bar bushes were consumables. I didn't get any suspension issues. I used access mode every single day so I'm not sure if keeping it exercised helped with that.

The tdv8 is such a good engine and I think it made the car. I was up for replacing mine with a sdv6 but after test driving one I decided not to buy.

I wasn't sure wether to go for the car because of the problem I'd heard and go for the TDV6, but very pleased I did though, certainly is an amazing engine, and as you said, makes the car. I had a Disco 4 TDV6 before this, and find the TDV8 is getting the same MPG around here, and sounds better too!
