We have just acquired a shed-tastic MK1 ford focus GHIA with a FFSH recent clutch and cambelt. the only fault seems to be the rear parking sensors not working. any ideas?

Check under the bumpers for broken wires to each sensor. Happened on 2 cars of mine with aftermarket sensors.

Bought mine as a cheap runaround to save the Mercs. Bought it cheap knowing it had no history and have now done cam belt, 4 new tyres, air con etc.

Cheap enough to replace if they can't be fixed. On eBay, they can be bought for £20 for a new set.

Nice car, really like the mk1 Focus.

Re the parking sensor problem, check the reverse light bulb and relevant fuse.

I like the logic. She can't see, so you bought her a Focus.

Nice car - my lad had one (5-door 1.6 Zetec) as his first motor, til it rusted itself to death. Power steering fault as well, would have cost £800 to repair everything that was wrong with it. So he spent £1k on a Celica, and then I spent £970 changing its clutch and fixing a power steering problem. Yay for older cars!

To be fair this is the second one we've had as the first one was murdered by a what transit van. Its a car she likes and we have had experience with before (better the devil you know).
