It's been a while since I've created a Readers' Cars thread...
I've had lots of cars before, and it's been a while since I've had a hot hatch. Previous cars include: MR2 Roadster (2.5 years), Z4 Coupe (1.5 years), Z4M Roadster (2 months), 2 Astra VXRs (6 months each), 2 Mk2 MX5s (2 months each).

Yep, it has the super sport seats. Full spec (if I can remember it) is:
- Vegas Yellow
- Black contrast line
- Quattro interior package (coloured centre console and seat backs, super sport seats w/ full leather, contrast stitching, flat-bottom steering wheel, different air vent covers, floor mats)
- Quattro exterior package (red trim in the lights, red calipers, roof spoiler (replaced with double-blade on mine), bigger wheels, silver spoiler lip)
- Technology package (HDD nav, HDD music, AMI)
- BOSE
- Privacy glass
- Panoramic sunroof
- Folding mirrors
- Heated seats
Think it came to just shy of £33k brand new with the spec (around £7k of options).

I do like the S1. I think they could have made a bit more effort with the looks (slightly wider arches) and maybe dialled down the exhausts - but the idea of a 2.0 Quattro in a small car is appealing.
I actually really like the exhausts, but see the argument given it's only a 4-pot! What is handy is having the valve system, where if you do want a quiet cruise you can just stick it in 'efficiency' mode. Wider arches would have been awesome, but the S cars are always made to be fast but 'discrete' (perhaps not in yellow). The RS models generally get flared arches and more dramatic bumpers, etc.

I actually don't find it all that planted; but then I am coming from an MR2. I am yet to work out exactly how to drive it properly, but that will come with time and it's part of the fun. Took me about 2 years or so to learn how to drive the MR2 properly!Traction is pretty good, but it's a bit flighty at... higher speeds. More so than I thought it'd be!

Definitely the same. It's been the hardest bit to get used to after the opposite end of the scale in the MR2. I remember being frustrated (I know this may sound odd) with the huge amount of feedback in the MR2, as it wasn't what I was used to - so it'll take a bit of time in the S1.I'm taking it to North Wales for a shakedown soon, so that'll help me understand it a bit better.
