BMW 530 E39

New for this evening, just got back from a 2 hours rainy round trip.

'01 Manual, a little over 140000 miles and owned by the seller for 5 years and didnt see winter duty during that time, so it's as far as an E39 gets pretty much 99% rust free...so far.

Sits on fresh studless winter tyres of unknown brand mounted on a set of style 5 split BBS rims and the summer set on a complete set of Style 66's. So there will be a switch, 66's will get the winter tyres for obvious reasons.

Plan is to fix the wonky gearshift when time allows and come spring fit a Bilstein/Eibach chassie kit and my Style 37's that's lurking in the garage. And try to keep this one for a while...

Timeless is the E39, just a beautifully balanced and simple design... one of the best saloon cars ever made IMO!

Personally the split rim BBS wheels date the car, but I understand why you like them. Would look epic on a set of CH-Rs

Brand new ones as it turned out. It's easy to check via the Swedish equivalent to the DVLA that the car has been off the road the last 5 winters atleast. It's 15 years old, so I'm pretty sure it's seen snow and salt before tho

Doh, didnt notice you were in Sweden, saw the "factory outlet" sign on the photo and assumed UK. Nice car anyway, still got a soft spot for E39's.

The BBS are fab, I love them, but I agree, they look better on an e34 for instance.

I have a set of style 37's that I'll use in the summer.

Aegean blue in the pic, but you get the idea.

Like those a lot. They suit the car well, I just think the BBS wheels look a bit 'fussy' compared to the rest of the car's simple and flowing design. Anyway it's your car so do what you wish obviously, it's a great car.

Got the car last sunday as a must really since I started my new job monday this week, so I haven't really had the time to do the interior/exteror wash bonding procedure yet. Today the sun was out so I grabbed a sponge and some car schampoo and headed off to the local petrol station and gave the car a wash. Interior tomorrow hopefully, but that won't be that hard since it's in very good condition. A mate of mine works as a car detailer and owes me a few, so come spring he will have to go to town on it

And as stated before, as soon as I have the time the BBS wheels will be changed to the original style 66's that came with the car, just need to swap over the tyres.

Thougt I did a good job, but I didn't every little miss shows mercilessly in the cold low standing autumn sun...

Footwell, not vacuumed yet, but looks in good condition for a 140000 mile, 15 year old 5:er.



Driver seat, not that bad either.

My plan is to fit a bilstein/eibach shock/spring kit in the spring which will lower some, it looks taller than it is now due to the fact that the winter tyres are 225's all around, which is one size too small up front and 3 in the rear, the correct size has alot chunkier sidewalls and hence fill up the wheel well better.

Style 32's look fab on these, had 18's on my 750's, my fave BMW wheel if im honest.

Switched the tyres over from the BBS's to the standard style 66's last weekend, and of course, one of the rear 9" wheels had a bit of a bump in it, so I have a bit of vibratrion coming from that. Will try to find a replacement rim, spare is 8" obvs so that won't work. I know that wider winter tyres is not the best way to go, but as of now the 225's on 9" rear rims produces an almighty stretch and quite frankly looks silly... Washed the car saturday, drove 80 miles yesterday, as dirty again, I hate winter.....
