TVR Cerbera 4.5

Back in June I sold my Mk4 Supra, fantastic car but didn't get on with the tiptronic box and it wasn't get used as much as I wanted. Over the next few months I fell out with the car scene, couldn't find anything I wanted and after putting a What Car thread up lots of thoughts went through my head on what to do with cars/life in general. Do I be sensible and get on the property ladder or get one last toy before commitment sets in. The choice obviously were the latter.
My thoughts on what to buy changed every week, first it was to daily an Evo 5/9 MR, then to have a Honda Elise as a toy or even a kit car. Any TVR wasn't on the agenda due to the horror stories of reliability and general running costs that you see associated with the brand. Ive always liked them since Ive got into cars but never thought id be able to afford one.
After nearly giving up on what to buy I thought i will give TVR a try since this could be my last fun car. Countless hours/days of research later I decided for my budget it would be a Cerb or Tamora. Always liked the Tuscan but good ones were way over budget.
I managed to get a passenger ride in a 4.5 Cerbera off a owner on here (thanks Bobbins) and was blown away. The noise, the rawness, id never been in anything like it before, after a good hour with the owner on what to look for I was set to find my own. I set a few parameters on what to look out for (stand out colour, v8) and a car that was well looked after with backup to prove it.
Rewind three weeks ago where a Cerbera popped up in my perfect spec. Spoke to the owner and that weekend I went for a viewing. Agreed a price and picked it up the weekend after.
Heres some pictures. Mixed in with my mates R33 GTR (Karl Mac on here)
Ive had the car 2 weeks now, at first (especially on the drive home) I was thinking what have I done, clutch was heavy, driving position was weird, no electrical assistance on brakes, steering etc.
That all changed when I took it to Joolz (Cerbera specialist) for a full inspection, car came with no big bills and little things I can get sorted over winter. I also went out at the weekend for a proper drive, left me grinning all the way, I can understand why people love TVR's, the noise, the journey, looks in the street, the handing, the weight and how everything is driver focused. Can appreciate it alot more now im used to it.
Plans are to fix whats come up in the inspection, remap from joolz next year and just enjoy every minute of the car. Its everything I wanted and hopefully she wont throw a big bill in my ownership. A bit long this post I know but ive just put my thoughts down.

Gorgeous! I put a deposit down on a Cerb back in 1999 (at the NEC motor show!) but never had the balls to follow through with it.
I still vow that some day I'll own one, but I already have two V8s and I'll struggle to get a third past the purchasing dept. Enjoy yours!

I was thinking same, but once i have a house i have no chance of ever getting another special car, nevermind a tvr. I didnt want to look back in 5-10 years time and i think i could have had one of those and regret it. You only live once. I definitely thought with my heart than my head on this one.The car look superb and guessing sounds awesome. Hope all goes well with ownership and you get to enjoy to it's full potential.
