I've had my Cosworth for a little while now (longer than most cars I've owned) but just joined PH and wanted to post it here. Its in great condition apart from a small idling issue at the moment. Its a great car throughout though I'm not sure how far into the winter it will stay out on the road.

I love my 190 (just the 2.6 though) - please post more pictures and more details of the car and what it's like to drive.

I bet your Cosworth is very different to drive from my 190!

Wonderful - fantastic cars, timeless looks and ready for another 20 years.

Love the overdone 'triple badges' Mercedes put on the nose.

Its great, a very fun car to drive, the dog-leg takes a bit of getting used to though!! It feels fast enough for what is and can keep up with a lit for sure. Surprisingly also comfortable for long journeys. I have found it to be more comfortable than modern (ergonomically designed) cars. It may have 4 doors but you can't put anyone in the back if you want any kind of clearance over bumps, though I don't mind that.

Good cars. Had two of these, ended up building one good one out of the pair due to one have a good shell and shot mechanics and vice versa with the other. Very well built cars, good to work on but the injection system is a horrible mix of mechanical and electronic and takes a bit of getting your head around. What's wrong with the idle?

Does yours not have the self levelling rear end in place? Bumps wouldn't be an issue if it was.

190 is the only Mercedes I have ever owned and they still look great.

Yours looks like a really nice example and especially like those alloys.

Yeah I thought these had the self levelling suspension too? Got to say it's a great looking car with (presumably) the larger wheels and suspension drop.

Very nice indeed. Although I do prefer cars with the original wheels on ....

Hope you get the idling issue sorted out OK.

Me too; I agree!

Contrarily, I'm not a fan of the alloys or the "big star" grille, but a 2.5 16v will still make me turn my head every day of the week.

It won't idle when its cold very well and just cuts out and isn't happy to start again, always good if you're pulling out of a turning...
As for the self levelling rear end I'm not sure but its the exhaust that catches on speed bumps etc if there is a lot of weight in the car.

I have the original grille for it though not the original wheels but there are a couple of other cars that are completely stock around and this is my favourite.

Its black though changes quite nicely with the light.

If it does still have the self-levelling plumbing then a fairly straightforward and satisfying thing to do is to renew the two SLS accumulators in the back-end. They will be shot (unless you have good reason to know otherwise). It was the best bit of maintenance I did to mine this year.

Similar cut out problems with my CE 24v, seems to clear after a few mins or giving it a little boot.
