Well after lurking on here for a very long time and having bought my MR2 through PH getting on for three years ago now I thought I'd finally say hello after attending my first SS today at Goodwood. Despite the not so great winter weather it was a thoroughly enjoyable morning out at one of my favourite venues. Seemed a really nice and chilled atmosphere which was nice, hopefully I'll get to more next year. Anyways here are my two ladies, the MR2 is my daily driver per say (albeit I get the train to work) and the Datsun has just come over from the USA and is a 50/50 venture with my dad as more of a weekend toy and my first real experience of classic car motoring :-D Both completely different beasts in their own rights with different skill sets, MR2 is getting nearer to completion however the Datsun is just starting its journey.

I suppose I should really put up the only bits you all really want to see now ;-) Fire away with any questions...

Lovely Datsun! Is that an original colour? It seems the factory palette was pretty epic when these were in production as I've seen them in all sorts of hues. What are your plans?

The MR2 is also very nice - you don't see many about anymore in such good nick.

Thanks everyone, they're not a bad pair smile The Datsun does seem to steal the show with people though, MR2 just isn't quite as appealing to most strangely.

haha I've refrained for long enough now, I'm sure there's others that hold that crown.

Yes its a factory colour (918 Orange), it was a requirement when I went looking for one biggrin Yeah the colour choices over the years were pretty awesome, I suppose we have the 70's to thank for that!

Big list really. In a vague ish order including maintenance bits fix the heater (it was bloody freezing at the weekend), under seal, fit door mirrors, re-seal windscreen, new ignition components, wheels + tyres, suspension, roll bars, brakes, 5 speed gearbox, longer diff, LSD, seats, maybe a BRE spoiler + headlight covers door roundel (jury is out). Enjoy it for a while then look at some engine work, maybe a L28 (2.8 out fo the 280z) but staying old school with triples going for 250bhp ish with torque to match or exceed when the car is ready for the extra grunt.

Overall modernise it a bit, increase performance in all areas while staying true to its roots. As you can gather I've just emabrked on a very long project and I'm sure there's bits I've missed off! lol

There's certainly less and less MK2 MR2's about these days, especially the JDM Turbo models. However there never really seems to be much appreciation of them other than those in the know though. With the mods its running it's certainly capable of embarrassing a lot of more modern machinery much to my amusement cool
