Hello all, thought I'd post up some pics of my car. It's a bit of a rarity with not many sold when new and finding a decent one now is almost impossible. Had it for just over a year now and to be honest it spends most of the time sitting in the garage so I really need to start using it more!

The bodywork was in a bit of a state initially (usual rust) but I've had that sorted now plus some other things. Luckily an old friend runs a Mercedes specialist which is a big help. Only jobs remaining are new engine mounts, a gearbox oil change and possibly an x pipe but undecided on the last one. Mileage is 140k but it has been very looked after over the years judging by the service history. Hope you like it!

I would like one of these and have been looking out for them on eBay for a while. Is it quick?

Love the two tone interior!

I bought one last year (a W209 55 convertible) but ended up with all black interior (would have preferred two tone). My first V8 and am also thinking about an X-Pipe.

Should start a thread really!

Nice!

Before you do any more work on it, get the plastic side skirts off and inspect the rust, its likely it will be rotten and will need major work around the jacking points.

To me, yes. But I guess it depends what you compare it to!

Done already. One of the sides (forget which one) needed some work done on the rear jacking point, other side was ok.

Looks great. There's an identical spec 57k mile car on AT at the moment for £14,995! Yours looks every bit as nice.

The mileage will always go against mine. I do wonder if it's time for the 90s stuff to start appreciating now though. Especially how 80s cars are now worth silly money!

Very tidy for 140k OP. You'd think white leather would be disgusting by now smile

Ah, I've had both the front seat base inserts and the steering wheel redone wink

I expect so, my 2002 E55 has the same engine in a bigger body and is plenty quick.

The acceleration in kickdown is brutal, soooo much torque it’s effortless. Great engine.
