BMW m135i acquired

We have just bought an m135i bee mmmm vvv
This came about by accident but suffice to say we own a couple of old cars and having had a 320d diesel oops for a year as a run about under the radar I realised my wife needs a modern car that hopefully is safe and won't break down and is still fun but frugal on petrol. Petrolhead man maths came in she said another 320d except not 3 yrs old. I thought no it's dull try a 330d instead although with m sport package it's a much better machine than the 320d it still left me falling as sleep . It is a good car and perhaps we might get one when all Petrol runs out but until the I think the baby or mini m 135i is a good hAlf wAy house
I don't really like turbos but this little m135i sounds good. I only test drive one for 15 mins but it was enough that I immediately thought no point in testing the a45 or golf r. Sorry but I've had enough of 4 cylinder engine noises
So far super impressed with the 8 speed auto, the seats are no where as good as an m4 but way better than the bogo ones in our old 320 se.
Traction is impressive and planning to go to the track soon in it
I went 5 door so it's usable more often versus my 3 x 2 seaters
Sport mode is good and the Mrs said don't you want to try eco mode I laughed and said not relevant for when I'm driving it
The steering is surprisingly good I though having driven a tt recently. It's weighty and the chassis feels reasonably taught for high speed composure well at least for a car of this price and size
The 3l does sound good although I know there is some sound generation going on
Leather quality is poor but they are Ll like that now it seems less being a 7 series or m4
Only 1 week in so I shall update my thoughts but I was impressed with it after 5 mins of driving and that's rare for me

We might remap it but not yet. It's the most sensible car we own so I'm not actually fussed about modding it ! Lowering it is out as we are in london and I've enough trouble with other cars getting over speed bumps as much as I would like to fit stiffer springs.

They really are a very cool car. Extremely fast and comfortable, sound great even though it's a bit fake inside an a lovely place to be.
The one thing I find when driving my brothers is it's just too fast to be fun in gear, a blip of the right foot and your up at 60 before you know it and stuck behind the next person. It's completely different to my car which on paper is only a second slower to 60, but in gear acceleration is much more linear and you have to rev it out in each gear. I thought I'd much prefer the M135i but I prefer my car to take out for a hoon, if only I could have my engine in the newer model as it rides so so well the the adaptive suspension it's so much more comfortable than mine.

Not that I need to update given there is plenty of ownership experience on here about the m135i but felt I wanted to jot a few words!
3 months in and over 2000 smiles completed !
Key reasons for buying this over Audi rs3 - cheaper and less chinsey and in my view the m makes a better noise. Side proFile looks better albeit other angles the Audi looks better. I don't like the 4 whee drive Audi not the image nowing coming with audis
Bought over a golf R because it's a golf ! Don't like 4 wheel drive and it sounds like a hoover. I suspect residuals will be worse also.
So it's not a focus RS either but this is an every day usable hot hatch and subtle!
We bought the 5 door for practicality reasons and the 8 speed zf aubecause it's quick through the gears almost like the dct and the manual does not have ratios which I think suit this turbo torque line etc
It's not a full M car nor a track weapon with no limited slip but that's not what I bought t for. It's a good mix of compromises and even managed 27mpg on 650 miles trip to France. I thought that was not bad with a mix of full acceleration and motorway cruising at 90mph. I did hit 155mph before being forced to slow which it amuses me that a hit hatch can do this speed. It really is as quick as my old 3.6 996 911 !
