Volvo V70 The Swedish Land Yacht

As I'm now a Dad, I'm discovering the myriad of stuff you need to carry for a baby is ridiculous. We've sold our Golf and replaced it with this.
Its a 2.4D Geartronic. The previous owner looked after it and suspects it might have been a demo car as it has quite a few options (memory seats, Xenons, dog guard, child booster seats, picnic table!, far too many cupholders, the leather on the backs of the front seats, wooden steering wheel, parking sensors, optional extra paint colour).
It has a large stack of paperwork for bills and servicing, done 164K and still feels tight. Gace it a good clean today to get rid of the dog hairs and found a can of coke and a bottle of orange juice under the passenger seat
This will be our family bus for the next few years. Plans are to get it serviced, service the gearbox and get the juddering through the steering wheel when braking from high speed resolved. Apart from that, everything works and it'll just get used.
Oh and the bum warmers are amazing

merc saloon, volvo estate, land cruiser and a bmw convertible would be my ideal garage for the next 25 years!
Marvellous cars, and often very highly spec'd by well off private buyers.
GOod news about the seat heaters, you can used VIDA and a DICE box to increase the temperature! On our V70 and my C70 I turned setting II up as high as it could go, and change setting I to be the same as the standard setting I.

I've grown up in these and the 740/960 predecessors. We've taken our current V70 from 37k to 164k and climbing over the last 9 years. Its absolutely bullet proof, aside from one handbrake issue and consumables it's needed nothing, swallowed everything and done so in great comfort. I firmly believe they are best in class from a combo of load volume, boot access, comfort, and reliability. I do also believe they are one of the most handsome estates ever made. Surprisingly rapid too, especially some of the petrol variants.

After reading some other threads, thought I should update this one. We've had it 18 months now and the love for the Volvo has spread to the wife, my two year old (her first word was Volvo), my parents, my in laws and my sister in law. All have asked me to give them first refusal if we sell it Not a chance.
Its had some remedial work this year.
New offside rear brake disc and caliper.
New offsite lower rear light (moisture)
Apart from that, its been serviced and driven. I still use Volmech on Teesside for all the work, despite it now being a 600 mile round trip for me, I don't trust anyone else to touch it.
