2008 MkV Golf GTI 3-door (South Australia)

Hi.... So, having lived in South Australia for nearly 2 years, and been driving Auto's for most of that time. I decided i wanted a toy. The following boxes needed to be ticked...

Something that can be tuned/modified when boredom kicks in.
Something understated but iconic at the same time
Now, if i had still been in the UK i would probably have gone E30 BMW or MkII Golf GTI.... But here in South Australia the 2nd hand car market for Euro stuff is really hard work and there is virtually nothing retro for sale.
Even something relatively modern like my MkV is a rarity (and priced accordingly)!!!
So, anyway.... I found this car. I wanted silver. I wanted manual. I wanted the Interlagos cloth, and whilst ideally i would have preferred a 5door - The 3 door looks great.
It has covered the equivalent of 80.000 miles with one female owner, locally supplied and with a HUGE supplying dealer history (Belts and water pump etc have just been done).
So far all i have done is cleaned it and put my plates on it..... There is a VAG specialist near my work and so i have decided the next time she is due a service, i will take it there and go 'Stage 1' and see where things lead to....

Where abouts in SA? I see coastline in the background which narrows it down a tiny bit, and my old man grew up and studied in Adelaide.
I've spent a long time looking at these, as they represent such great value, but I think a 3dr is just not quite practical enough! Hopefully it's trouble-free though.
