My garage and my old 911 have made a few appearances here on PistonHeads. But now they're both together in an owner-produced video clip.

Do you think you can make it through 10 minutes of an American talking about his two-car garage? If you're game, here's the link:

What I learned making a video: it's a lot of work, and I have a new-found respect for the people who are able to make these things professionally.

Any input is welcome.

That's a cracking workspace there, kudos to you for creating it!

I can only dream my place is going to be anything like that.

Awesome stuff. Imagination, planning and execution and you can make a pretty standard space utterly brilliant to work in. I always regret not painting my garage as we moved into our house - the effort now to pull everything out would be immense. One day...

I really enjoyed that. I completely relate to a workshop being a relaxing place, and something to be kept ordered, though I think you take organisation to higher levels than I do and apparently I am pretty organised smile

My only feedback is the transition clip of the door closing grated on me a bit. Something 'softer' would have worked well. This is only very minor though as you asked for input; the video was excellent!

I have seen this somewhere. Do you have the link for the Garage Journal thread?

Loved that. It gave me a few ideas about my own garage (the fold-down extra bench space at the height of the other benches is an excellent idea, especially having a couple of inches storage behind) - you pack so much in a relatively small space.
My space is about 75% of yours and having space for everything is always a challenge - you've got it so right there.

I think calmness comes from keeping a garage tidy, you don't have to be obsessive but if the tool is to hand when I need it I find I work better and achieve more. Everyone that comes into my garage quickly learns to replace tools where they found them once they're finished - or else!

Listen to an American talk for ten minutes? That's a pretty tall order!

I joke, based on the above comments I'll give that a view.

Great garage and great video. I'm sure I've seen a Petrolicious video about you, car and garage before. I made a mental note of modeling my future garage on similar concepts. smile

I remember a picture of your lift being one of the convincing factors to have a scissor lift put in our garage. Although our two car garage has to store 2 cars so it's not quite as bespoke as yours!

Video is really nicely put together for an amateur, I'd list it on YouTube as I'm sure you'd get a lot of people checking it out.

Watching the Petrolicious video now, love your approach to the 911!
