Another Volvo. A 740 auto this time. What a surprise; she drove lovely and has no rust.

93k on this one with 3 owners.

Daytime running lights disabled by removing a single fuse. Why? Anarchy in the UK!

Very good. Someone did 19k between the last MOT in a year! Hopefully they claimed the mileage costs.

That's my 2WD V70-R manual. Uprated rods, 19t turbo, VXR injectors, uprated pump etc. She likes a tyre or two if pushing on.

I like your v70r. I miss my old one:

I had 3 Volvo's at once for a time - s70 t5, 940 turbobrick and the v70r. People used to give me odd looks too.

I've always wanted a 240 glt estate to turbo. Learnt to drive and took my test in my mums one, fond memories.

Love it, the kinda car I'd want if my life depended on a car for transport. Grandad had a 740 SE Auto, made manic clicking noises until the seat belts were clipped in. The amount of room around the engine was just awesome. The silly old sod used to replace the continental tyres every 2 years despite covering about 2000 miles in that time. If I wasn't 15 at the time I would have bought it. Nice car OP!

Cheers all. Decided to tart up the rear lights as they were a little tired after 30 years.

Look how rusty it was behind the lights! Oh, none at all hehe

Out came the wet and dry. Various grades used then some cutting compound and polish.

One of the lights completed on the top and how they did look on the bottom.

Very nice.

I still have five Volvos myself at the moment. My neighbour also owns five of my old ones!

This is Volvo number 21 for me.

The purists may now hate me. In fact, everyone may hate me!

She now has some dished steel wheels which I painted this morning.

"You ruined it" said the world and his dog hehe

It also bugged me that the gear shift bulb was gone, so I stripped that down and got it to light up smile

Oh, also purchased and fitted some proper Volvo belts for the twin water pump / alternator setup and the PAS.
