Renault Alpine Owners Club test and trackday tomorrow, got the old girl MOT'd in the knick of time and gave her a quick wash as its rumoured there will a magazine feature. Was hoping my 500bhp LS3 engine one would be ready in time but unfortunately will have to wait to the next one. Think I'm the only non turbo going so probably be slowest, especially since my own power to weight ratio isn't what it used to be , but it's only a bit of fun :0).

Lovely to see your GTA and hear about the track day and it looks fantastic, but you can't mention a 500bhp V8 one and not say more! Come on!

Very nice car, OP.
V8 project looks interesting: would you mind doing a build thread for that, please? smile

A mate had a red turbo GTA about 25 years ago. It had an electrical fault sadly that neither the Renault dealer or a number of auto electricians could resolve, so it went back to the dealer for a refund! It was a shame as it felt super quick at the time.
(It was replaced by a 911 that increased in value)

Smashing cars, very underrated! I was running Renault's showroom in St Martin's Lane when these were launched in the UK and was thus one of two people in Renault's London operation responsible for selling these cars. The biggest mistake was the insistence of Renault that they be badged as Renault and not Alpine, that alone ruined it's sales potential against Porsche, the major competitor at the time. Brilliant cars though, I preferred the non turbo, fabulous exhaust note, less heat and more linear power delivery. Still have some original unissued brochures in the roof.............

Build thread already running on RAOC and Turbo Renault forums. Haven't got the will to resize every picture to post on here as well :0)

Looks futuristic. That ICE crap should be swapped to electric motor and batteries.

Looks great - amazing to think it is 30 years old.

Your garage also looks interesting, how many cars can you get in there?

Depends how big they are and how crowded you have it. Its 110 m2 I tend to keep 6 - 7. But I have a lot of racking and st in there too. 6 medium to large cars with plenty of space to get in and out is how I like to keep it.

GTA Turbos were flying, 4 making over 300 bhp and bearing in mind Bruntingthorpe is uphill and not particularly grippy they posted 4.5, 4.6, 4.8 and 5.0 dead with 0-100s ranging from 10.4 to 11.8. Most factory cars struggle to get with in 0.5 sec of their factory 0-60 time there so those figures are impressive.
