Twelve year refresh for VW T5 van
Discussion
Ticked pretty well all the boxes on my VW T5 lwb 174bhp when I bought it new in March 2005, fitted from new with a Caravelle front end and lights, all plastic colour coded, Eibach 30mm lowering springs and 18" Lenso wheels.

Two years in and fitted with an H & R coilover lowering kit and chipped to 205 bhp, a single seat bolted in the back and plywood framing to accommodate my windsurfing kit and still leave some space for a bit of work stuff, wheels were refurbed at Spit and Polish 6 years ago as the polished rims went manky.

Twelve years in and 99,000 miles and I have decided that I will keep it forever as I'm virtually retired now and it's mostly only used to go to the beach and golf course. I've had no major problems but it was looking a bit tired with a few dull spots, nicks and scratches here and there so it's been given a full respray except the roof, fitted with a Sportline front bumper bottom and rear spoiler, tinted windows have been fitted in both side doors.

Yesterday the last phase of the visual external refresh was carried out with new 19" hyper black wheels fitted with Conti Speed 6 tyres.

Under the skin plans to come are H & R anti roll bars, polybushes, big front brakes with 6 pot calipers.
Internally the front seats will be retrimmed in leather, a double seat bolted in the back, soundproofing and insulation, fully retrimmed and carpeted.

Very nice. A mate of mine has got one that he uses for his washing machine repair business as well as camping / Le Mans trips. We share the driving to LM and I'm always amazed at how well these drive. His is a 2003, albeit well maintained and not too high mileage, but it drives as smooth as most cars and sits at m/way speeds all day and still gets good mpg. Retirement with a T5 to cruise round in sounds pretty good !
