Tidy jetta , the 80s Hellas with white covers are a smart upgrade if you're going for the authentic late 80s look!!
One thing MK2 Golfs/Jettas are well known for is the awful lights. There is an upgraded loom available which takes power straight from the battery so far less voltage drop iirc on a standard loom you are lucky to get much over 8v at the headlight socket.
Are you on the mk2 Golf owners club forum? well worth signing up for!!!

Very nice. My parents ran a 1989 Jetta 1.8 GL for a few years. The Pierburg carb eventually gave up and was replaced by a Weber + manual choke, which was a considerable improvement. Very free-running, and could be made to accelerate with alacrity - sometimes too much so!Much underrated car, and huge boot carried a lot more than contemporary Golf Mk2 would.

Pretty easy to do the wiring yourself too, it is just an additional relay. One thing MK2 Golfs/Jettas are well known for is the awful lights. What a lovely car! Takes me back to being a teenager.
I like your very subtle upgrades. It looks great on the steelies, but those alloys really suit it too. They make it look like a mini Audi 80\90.
Thanks, I can see me getting to like the new look. I did try my BBS RA's on it off my mk2 Golf gti. They looked good but a pita to keep clean on a daily ride I like your very subtle upgrades.
