Out with the old...in with the blue....Volvo content

Picked it up this morning, it’s very blue, quite rapid, the noise is almost unsociable in sport mode, and aside from the one I test drove almost 2 years ago I have never seen another one in a dealers let alone on the road other than this one.

Driving it all day today and I have decided I’m going to keep this one for ever

Yeah it’s a straight 6

The new one released this year is a 2litre twin charged unit with a bit more power and torque

I think I read somewhere that there isnt an option to put a tow bar on these, which takes it off my list, bah!

It’s ultimatley a V60 with trick ohlins damping, a rear bias, and I mean very rear bias 4wd Haldex system and a boosted straight 6

The rest is standard Volvo affair so comfy seats included !

Comfortable and loony quick if you put the foot down. For a rear biased car it certainly wore the fronts. that 6 is a heavy lump, and does impact on the steering. The noise is something else - especially in sport.. the seats are something else.. Bought a set of winter wheels and tyres for it (not the volvo ones - they wanted over £3K for them) - the PSS really don't like the cold - which will be up for sale some point soon.

Mine came from the dealers with the passenger Ohlins set to the hardest and the drivers to the softest. - I wondered why the OH was complaining about
the ride on the quick run home.

Could never get more than about 28 to the gallon out of it, and when my mileage skyrocketed with work it had to go. My XE-S gets nearly mid 30's,

Enjoy it - they don't make many cars like that anymore, enjoyed it for the time I had it - btu it was never going to be a keeper.....
