Morning all

I thought I would start a thread about my weekend car, an Imola Red M Coupe.

A photo on the day I bought it in 2006.

A photo after the only track day I did in the car at Donnington - covered in mud when the m5 driven by my friend, had some tail happy action on the grass part of the track but luckily corrected it. The more amusing outcome was a copious amount of mud splats all over the front of my car.

I spent a good amount of money maintaining the car including KW coilovers, h&r arbs, racelogic.

I owned it for 2.5 years as I sold it in favour of an M3 CSL.

I had a host of M cars and AMG's and then in 2016 I had the opportunity to buy it back in a deal I couldn't refuse.

The car has just had a suspension refresh as well as a full respray as I am a bit particular and I was going in for a quote to get the roof and front end painted and my painter just said, why don't you just get the whole lot done.

Here she is after being collected last week.

That's it for now and she is tucked up for the winter!

Will provide an update in a month or so!

One of my all-time favourites. Sadly (for me - good news for you) their prices have already bottomed out and have been on the rise for a couple of years now, so maybe I'll never own one.

Hey ho - enjoy!

Gorgeous car. Did you get any pain protection after the respray? Mine seems more susceptible to stone chips after having the front end done.

Imola must be a very rare colour. I don't see many, but those I have seen all appear to be Estoril or silver.

Anyway, I love these cars so have bookmarked in anticipation.

BTW they are way out of my reach now but it seems like only a couple of years ago that £10k would get you a good one.

Great car and one I have considered for a while but I think I have missed the boat as prices have climbed too high for a good one. Nice colour too - makes a change from Estoril and silver.

Looking forward to updates.

Ditto frown Not a BMW fan but absolutely love the MCoupe. Seeing as a Cat C car is apparently worth nearly £20k, I think I'm out of the running.

Lovely car OP, great colour.

Great car . Don’t sell it again . I wished I’d never sold mine , even although I made quite a packet on it , it was still a mistake selling it .
Enjoy the car it’s a cracker

Lovely thing, such a squat profile - and raised rear arches make it look like it is crouching.

Not usually a fan of any shade of red on cars but yours looks delicious in the photos. There was an ultra rare S54 engine'd Z3MC in Laguna Seca blue for sale around 1 year ago, low miles, pristine condition for 27k. Must be worth north of 50 for one lucky owner! What a lush colour that was.

The dealer who sold that car must have WAY underpriced!

I still remember the first time I saw a Z3M coupe out on the roads. Utter fascination. love at first sight. Completely different from anything else on the roads at that time. Wasn't so clued up on BMWs in those days so I can't say exactly what colour it was but I think it was either Mora or Techno Violet. I don't think I saw another one for about five years - proper unicorn car. I loved the utter frivolity of it. As already mentioned, they're financially a bit out of reach nowadays and even the 2.8 coupes - when you can find one - cost about triple what a mint roadster would.
