My First Drivers Car

Now i am a little bit late to post this because i have had the car for a few months now but i have been out enjoying this car car so who can blame me!!
My 1999 UKDM DC2 Integra Type R.
now to start off this is my first Honda and my first type R i am 20 years old and want what most people my age that are into cars want,a "fast" car.
i have owned a Cooper S before this which is only roughly 10bhp behind the integra but i have soon learnt that you don't buy this car for bhp,not at all.
All of the reviews on this car are so true this cars handling is phenomenal its an absolute blast to drive,i have completely and utterly fell head over heels for this car and now owning one and wanting one for a while now i can see why they get the respect they do because they dam well need it!
Anyway enough of me being a honda fan boy some more about the car.
Its a 1999 Milano Red/Pink UKDM DC2.
Un Modified(for now)
148k on the clock i have the the first service in 2000 at honda and the next 11 years of history with honda the remainder of the history has been kept up to by TGM motorsport. So i know the car has been well maintained by the previous owners.

Fellow DC2 owner here. Glad to hear you’re enjoying the car! Look after it as too many have been written off/broken over the years so they are becoming pretty rare.
I’ve had mine for 5.5 years and I find it really intoxicating to drive. I’ve been going to TGM for the past 11 years with Type-Rs. They are a great bunch who do things properly.
Mine has a full JDM exhaust off a Type RX but is otherwise completely standard. It even has the original head unit.
These cars are a great anecdote to modern motoring.

It will be very well looked after already had all the under seal taken off back to original paint and re sealed!
I work for BMW and a firm believer in quality parts and genuine parts so she will be well kept but also used properly!
Snap! Picked up mine 2 weeks ago!
I've only driven it once since getting it but am looking forward to taking it today on my b-road journey to work where I can get to know it a bit better.
Sorry for the cut off picture but you get the idea. Also a 1999, although only 55k mikes as it's had a very quiet last decade with the previous and only owner.

That's my old car! I had it for around 5 years and loved the thing.
It sat alongside my Caterham and Elise and was the "daily". Replaced it with an E36 328i as I wanted something RWD.
A great car and it is missed - take care of it! Like all Rs, just remember to keep an eye on the oil level...

Big Honda fan here, previously had a Civic VTI MB6, Prelude Type S, Integra DC5, Supercharged Civic EP3, and an S2000. I'd really like to drive an EK9 Type R, and the DC2 Integra.
I bought another Integra DC5 earlier this year to bring back up to mint condition and hold on to, it's hard to beat the thrill of driving these cars that weigh so little and the engine/gearbox combination is fantastic, there will never be anything like these again.

Decent cars as you all know..
Looks like it still has the AD08Rs which I put on it. Must admit, I didn't like them as much as the PE2s which I had on before.

I quite like the AD08Rs good tyres once they have some heat in them just wear down quickly

Only dynamic gripe for me was the steering feel - I did enquire about removing the PAS at one point.
It was a good car - only breakdown was a broken fan belt so I couldn't complain.
I would have spent a few grand on upgrades if I kept it but in the end decided to move on. The few grand has now been thrown at my E36 instead!
I do often think abut another Type R Honda as I need a practical family car so have one eye on Accord Rs in the classifieds...

I find it nice when driving fast but a bit crap at slow speeds.
Well it will be having a bit of money spent on it in the next couple of months already got coilovers and a few other bits waiting to go on.

Looked twice at the number plate thinking it might have been mine.Brilliant cars! Hope the OP enjoys it!
Really miss it from time to time. If I was in a position to keep a stable of cars I'd have one back in a second!

Good stuff - seems like you have the right plans. I would have done suspension, bushes, maybe some engine work, body etc. if I still had it.I hope to keep it for every long time so will hope to take it on a few trips into Europe and that!

I am quite (very?) picky but didn't find the steering had sufficient feel and was a bit slow for me personally.
It got a lot better once you had some force through the diff though so it came alive under hard cornering. Consequently it lacked the constant stream of communication some cars give at all speeds.
But otherwise, a good fun and practical little car.
