So, after numerous Porsche GT cars (and a McLaren MP4-12C I'd rather forget about) I've decided to plump for something a bit different to ferry me to and from continental road trips and the odd track day at the Nurburgring and Spa: a Jaguar XKR-S GT!

Now, I know it won't be every PH'er's cup of tea being somewhat old fashioned and "vulgar" in colour, shape and size but it certainly appeals to the 12 year-old-petrolhead in me. Time will turn out if I've bought a Christmas turkey or an extremely rare and exotic big-cat!

Oooooooofffffffff!

That looks spectacular!

I am not normally a fan of white but that just works.

Congratulations - I am not sure how you can go too wrong there for what you want it to do.

Good job.

Thank you smile

Personally I'm not a fan of white either but, as you say, it seems to work on this car. White and Black was also the official Jaguar colour combination for the launch. I shouldn't see too many on the road either since I understand only 10 RHD examples were sold in the UK. The remaining 30 odd went to North America.

Indeed. I hope this protects the residual value somewhat...!

Thanks, I'm also very fortunate to own a Lotus 3-Eleven so I've now got a garage full of British peculiarities!

From the sales blurb: 'This XKR S GT is 1 of 10 [my comment: RHD] examples in the world. The car boasts 542bhp from its 5.0 V8 supercharger which will take the car up to 186mph. To make this car Jaguar removed the rear seats, installed light weight bucket seats with 4 point harnesses in the front, added a large rear wing to add 145kg of downforce [my comment: really?!] and extended the front suspension track by 52mm. All of this added together to create a Jaguar like no other. Lapping the famous Nürburgring in 7 mins and 40 seconds [my comment: I'll give it a go!]. This high performance coupe is offered in exceptional condition and has covered only 1,400 miles by its 1 private owner. The car also benefits from a full Jaguar main dealer service history.'

That is vulgar taken to another level - I absolutely love it!!

I bet you can't even open your garage without cracking a grin at the mere sight of the thing hehe

If you get the chance, post up a video of it starting / accelerating - given the exhaust notes from the more "standard" versions this must sound astonishing.

Also, a few more pics would be good - what is the interior like in these things?

Thanks for sharing & enjoy, I've seen worse Xmas presents!!

Thank you, kind sir. I take delivery in early January; can't wait to crack open a New Year's bottle of something and just stare at it. I'll have to do this anyway since I won't be able to drive it until February/March when my ankle should have recovered after I broke it before Christmas...

I'll post a few more pics and some insightful vids shortly.

Congrats - that should make for a good start to the new year (once the ankle is back to sufficient strength)
It certainly looks purposeful
