From CL600 Biturbo to C6 RS6 Audi

Evening all
After an expensive but enjoyable 18 months with the CL600, I have sold it and gone for something equally exotic !
The CL was a great car when it was running well but unfortunately it was becoming an expensive hobby to keep it in tip top condition. Over the 8 months I spent at least 5K on ECU, coil packs, ABC etc. You dont necessarily realise that a car which was originally 120K and now only costs around 15K brings with it some eye watering bills.
The car got admiring looks wherever it went and it still looks a very expensive car 10 years on!
After a week or so of timewasters on ebay and autotrader, someone finally came up with a good offer and she left me on Tuesday last week

So what next?
With 5 and 1 year old sons, the CL was not the most practical with car seats and suchlike. I've always liked the Audi RS models and decided to look at C6 RS6s
I read up about the oil leaks and water pipe corrosion and have hopefully got a good one.
So here it is!!

Impressions? It is ridiculously fast!
Out of the box, they produce 570HP from a twin turbo V10 engine, which shares much with the Lamborghini engine found in the Gallardo. However, they are very easy to tune and this one has had a simple Stage 1 tune from AMD taking it to 680 HP
To be honest it may even be too aggressive - the torque is immense and it literally takes off
The Quattro system makes it feel easy to drive though - no wheelspin like in the CL
It has adaptive suspension which has 3 settings - comfort, dynamic and sport. Dynamic seems the best compromise and it works well with the H&R lowering springs fitted by the former owner.
The former owner also added a Milltek exhaust and had the wheels painted anthracite which looks nice against the rest of the car
Concerns - keeping my license!!
Other concerns - slight oil leak. I bought it from a dealer who has immediately booked it in to have it looked at - good service!
i am hoping that this is going to be a lot more reliable than the CL. It handles beautifully and will keep me on my toes in terms of performance. I thought the CL was quick but this is another level

Got to love the man maths. Selling a CL that has had all the major issues remedied for another wallet trembler! 
They are both great cars but I'd recommend reading the last few C6 RS6 owners threads as the costs associated with these cars can soon add up.
Hopefully the oil leak is not down to the 50p o-ring that requires rather a lot of work to sort.
Fingers crossed your owners thread bucks the recent trend because if you get a good one, they must be terrific to own.

Pleased to hear that you sold the CL, looks to be a nice car you've replaced it with. Probably a coincidence but I've been looking to replace my much loved Phaeton with an S8 not the V10 but the 'hot V' V8 version but still have loads more research to do. Good luck with the Audi and I'll be interested to know how you get on in the future.
I loved your CL, and I love this too. Both cars I would be happy to own one day.

I would be very surprised if this is the case. They are probably the two most expensive to run non-supercars you can buy, so I wouldn't expect this RS6 to be any different running cost wise to your CL.Simon
Well done! I joined the 'club' around the same time. I spotted the famous oil leak and am having that sorted. More on that later. I picked up a factory derestricted, debadged, unmarked '09 with 42k on the block. Just one celebrity owner. I'd be keen to see the difference between a factory standard version vs a mapped version. Even at 572BHP the performance is wtf!

I had similar pain with my CL600. ECU, coil packs etc. Loved it but cost so much to keep on road and never sure when the next big bill was coming. Part-ex'd mine against a Panamera turbo S. Not as good to look at as the CL nor as many toys but feels more solid and has Porsche warranty so fingers crossed.

What a car though!! so much more rewarding to drive than the CL - very firm and not wallowy!
The gearbox is a revelation after the CL - it's not a dual clutch affair but changes are instant - certainly compared to the CL
Power is other-worldly - by far the quickest car I have driven. 60 to 100 looks like the rev counter moving but its the speedo!!!
Plate came with the car - I think it looks great!
