Hi all,

I have owned my Type R FN2 Bronze (07) for nearly 2 years now and here is a little writeup of the car under my ownership.

This is the first sports car I have owned and was chosen for it's looks and reliable engine. I knew quicker cars were out there but always had my heart set on an fn2 so went and bought a 2007 model with low mileage (24k)

This car has been an absolute joy to own and drive! It only had one previous owner who had it from new and was well looked after.
But like any new owner i thought it could look even better!

I ended up getting the car professionally valeted inc machine polished and ceramically coated which really brought out the colour. A fresh service was given inc new transmission oil and valve clearances after which i felt made the car drove like new.

In terms of aftermarket mods i fitted a new skunk 2 gear knob which is weighted and gives a nice smooth shift and just recently had new brakes fitted inc 4pot Brembo calipers, discs and pads plus new brake fluid. Def a huge improvement!
I also fitted a reusable K&N air filter.
My main use is a weekend car and the odd commute to work here and there.
The engine is bulletproof and car runs like a dream, possibly looking at 15mm eibach springs and fast road setup for the future!
And I'm also looking at getting a Quaife limited slip differential fitted at some point of ownership. I get on average 26mpg and use shell V power nitro fuel which is the best fuel for this engine imo.

I've now done just over 32k miles and car is still running like new, love how this engines like to rev all the way to 8k!

Thanks for reading.

Looks like a nice example mate. Would definitely recommend a set of Eibach springs.

Also found I prefer an OEM Honda gear knob to any weighted aftermarket one but thats just preference I guess.

Oem one is great but prefer the weighted one asi think it looks better ad shifting is def a big improvement.

Nice looking car, I don't think I was aware of this colour before, it obviously looks black from a distance but does it look bronze when close up or does the bronze show up in the sunlight?

Looks a solid example. It'll run for ages, just keep an eye on oil levels, they like to use plenty!

Hi Nick

Thanks! Yes funnily enough i thought it was black too until i re-read the ad! It looks black but reveals it's bronze tint when under the sun or lighting, lovely colour if i say so myself!
Here is a photo best displaying the bronze under the sun.

Thanks mate, yes always check every few weeks but 90% of the time i don't even blast it so levels are always consistent.

26mpg, you're using yours properly then! I averaged about the same. The way the seats fold flat and the car almost changes into a small van still impresses me today. Mine was Milano, loving the bronze, nice car!

Ps how much was the valet and detail if you don't mind disclosing? Thank you.

I've seen a Type S in this bronze colour, but sadly neglected paintwork did not show it off well. Looks really smart popping in the sun. It reminds me of the black, which in the sun, pops blue.

Haha thanks mate, a lot of town and country lane driving! Yes i forgot to mention the ridiculous boot and rear passenger space, really is quite deceiving.
The valet was all outside work so not technically a valet, which consisted of a wash, a full detar and clay, another wash, 2 stage machine polish and carpro quartz ceramic coating applied. All cost £305 which was a bargain considering the work and finish.

I've had my eye on one of these for a cheap station car as my old AMG is proving to be quite juicy on a short commute smile

The Type R gets some bad reviews about the ride however, is it really that bad?

On 19s mine was truly horrendous around town and skipped about on bumpy back roads. Fine ish on the motorway.

Hi mate

Would be a perfect station car and quick blast on your return home! I honestly don't think it's bad at all and mine is on the oem 18" wheels. I mean you would probably feel it going over bumps but i have found it quite comfy and that also includes motorway journeys. When approaching speed humps i slow down a lot more than other cars would and avoid potholes.
No issues

Also forgot to mention the very first mod i did! A Milltek non resonated exhaust, sounds so much better (apart from the initial cold start!) And how it should have come as stock.
