Clio V6 Trophy #53
Discussion
Thought I'd start a quick thread now that the car has made it to the UK and I've seen it's safe and sound (almost had an issue with a disappearing delivery driver).
I started looking at V6 road cars, phase 2 in particular last year and although I love the things and always have since I saw them at the NEC motor show back in the day, they just weren't 'enough' in the performance and lunacy stakes. I'm a track day/car fan and have realised I'm a RenaultSport follower after a string of cars over the years...so the hunt was on for a Trophy.
I found this car over in Denmark in October and long story short, I flew over for the day, drove it on a dyno and bought the thing! The car got delivered a few weeks back to Mark Fish, where it's going to be fully serviced and tweaked a little for me. It's by no means a standard car...around 7 years ago, before the last owner bought it, it was given a full refresh and update. In the past 7 years, it's lived in a factory building and not turned a wheel!
Spec wise, the stock cars put out 285bhp and weigh 1125kgs (with fluids). This car is quoted at between 300-320hp and around 1060kg, so I'll be interested to see how accurate that is with Mark. It has a secondary ECU, custom wishbones, fully rose jointed, Ohlin dampers, FEL 4 pots all round...all adding to the interest.
Plan is to get it right mechanically and body wise, do a few track days a year at Brands oh and drive it on the road every now and then!

That looks savage I love it! I am amazed you can use that on the road, I imagine it will ‘raise some eyebrows’ when you do!
Looks to be an excellent project.....is the RS250 a ‘stock’ car or have you played with that?

Thanks Si, should be fun to drive on some very smooth roads (I think there is one round here somewhere). It'd be more for novelty than anything...I'd try driving it to Brands for a track day.Looks to be an excellent project.....is the RS250 a ‘stock’ car or have you played with that?

The RS250 is currently an RS350 Clubsport style project with various mods in and out, lots of weight saving and engine mods for 350hp/350lbft power output. I've retained all the interior apart from back seats and replaced glass and panels where possible. Currently 1241kg but that will drop to around 1200 with the addition of composite doors (that's with a full cage too).
