Peugeot 205 Endurance-Lite racecar

So Project number... errr we wont go there




Some of you may be following my youtube channel - @selectmotorsport which im struggling input the time into keeping going (but it will)



but I also like looking back over at project threads so thought id do one for the Peugeot also.




the first shell was a red junior which looked absolute mint! a quick checkover (with a hammer) discovered that the seam sealer on the outside was covering a hole hell of rot underneath in the sills and arches!











Beauty...




I got her up on the ramp to start messing around and pulled her to bits pretty quickly stripping out interior/ engine etc (I wish I kept her just a a rusty running unit car tbh) but yeah she was bought for one thing which didn't go to plan...

Carrying on, Stripped her down and discussed a lot of rust on the inner sills, boot floor, arches
























So if you watch the video youll see that I did attempt to start fixing, bought new sills etc but I found more rot at the rear of the car and thought nah fook this!

SO that's when the blue shell was bought, very low mileage, ex clubman rally car converted back to standard road car...




This needs a little bit of work being an ex rally car theres obvioiuslly old cage mounting points and dodgy welds here and there but nothing to bad to sort out...









Anyway so a long time was spent at the end of the grinder again cleaning the seam sealer off in preparation to seam weld the shell and get the roll cage in...




First main job was to figure out where I was putting the fuel tank (60 litre ATL), so out came the grinder



















With a hole near about the right size I made up a box out of 1.2 to lower into the hole and house the ATL...

and then tacked in









Got massively carried away and forgetting its only 1.2mm sheet laying some averagely alright beads warped the panel to buggery









A lot of time spending beating the heating/cooling the box it straightened up, it will be fine especially with a lid on it you wont notice it!



















As I was saying above a lot of time on the grinder which ill just show you in photos....



















and primed to keep it protected for time being









So in the midst of all this I picked up an old beast!









6" bed height Colchester student! how cool!




Ofcourse she got stripped down right away and I got left with another project...

One lathe, nearly complete! (electric boxes to clean up etc )






But shes looking mint if I do say so myself!




Anyway the Peugeot, so its currently in a state of its got bits of roll cage taped in to mock positions, I bought all the bent parts and will just by tube and notch it myself for the straight parts door bar etc




So the roll cage all mocked up
