Audi TT-S - The Most Unlucky Car

Evening All,
I have owned my Audi for around a year now, so thought it may be worthwhile uploading a thread!
Having previously owned a few nippy cars - RX8, Abarth 595, 330i etc - I wanted something that was a little step up, while still looking the part. Being in the position of having no kids I thought I would maximise this and opt for a 2 seater convertible.
I was toying with the likes of a Z4, MX5, SLK etc but none of them excited me at all. I have always admired the styling of the TT - upon searching online for a few days I found a local TT-S within budget.
1 week later and it was mine!

For those who are unaware, the TT-S is a poor mans TT-RS
- a 2.0 turbo producing around 260 BHP paired with the Quattro 4WD System, is good for 0-60 in around 5.8 seconds and excellent handling on b roads. All in my opinion of course.

3 weeks into ownership the car was keyed in 2 areas on the car. To say I was fuming is an understatement, with the car being black is really stands out like a sore thumb.
1 month later it was broken into, nothing stolen but some aftershave! Could be worse I suppose. 2 months later was keyed again on the other side! This really got to me as from all angles now the car looked a show, but I was really reluctant to get it fixed (been quoted around £800) as imagine it happened again straight after?
Finally I came down 1 week ago to go to work, been broken into again! Bonnet was wide open with all my contents of the car all over the car, Passport Stolen (I know, silly leaving in there).
So frustrating.
Anyway, I love the car and am close to getting all the scratches rectified in time for summer!

king low. Jesus thats some poor luck, its not the same person targeting you is it?! I'd be setting up some surveillance if possible.
Regardless, looks like a really nice car and its nice that you're still enjoying it despite the vandalism. Did you catch the thread on general gassing recently about the guy with the 135i that got keyed?

I'm a fan of that era TT - if I was going for one, it'd probably be the diseasel or vanilla 2.0T for me, in coupé form.
Sorry to hear about your bad luck. I was absolutely heartbroken when my three cylinder Polo was keyed, so I daren't start to contemplate how you feel.
Where about in Merseyside did these incidents happen out of interest? I work there.

I've got the same car but in coupe. Great looking cars, lovely interior, sounds good too!
But given the weight it'd not got enoigh grunt I'm, plus the steering has no feeling and the brakes are a weak point.
I've replaced the haldex clutch pump twice so far but otherwise its been reliable in the 50k I've had it for, is on 83k now.
I think a remap and a haldex controller would make it a far more fun car!

From what i understand (and toyed about with in some racing games), a different haldex and some fiddling with the ARBs can effectively cure audi's chronic understeer and make it a very sharp handling car.But given the weight it'd not got enoigh grunt I'm, plus the steering has no feeling and the brakes are a weak point.

I mean I have never had any amazing "drivers cars" but I thought the handling was pretty sharp on this. Not experienced much understeer, quite the opposite in fact when really pushing it have found the back end twitching.
I understand it could be the tyres etc.

I run michelin sport cup 5's , have found when pushing on in some corners it will drift wide requiring a violent deceleration or a stab of the front brake , its got a good 50:50 weight balance but still could do with more drive coming from the rear. I ran a superchips which i got a refund on as the map was a bit spikey and had flat spots . 300 plus brake felt like what it should have had though. It was nice to be able to brake whilst on power with this map though, the standard map disallows this.
I would get a rolling road remap that suits your car rather than a off the shelf map.
