Iggy number 3.... Weekend/track car
Discussion
Picked this up as a attempt to keep the fabia reliable and more importantly stop me messing with it.
Been toying with the idea of a track car for a while. Finally bit the bullet.

Started pulling the decals off just not my thing.

First modification...... My missus ripped the boot trim clean off

All in all quite happy with the purchase. Got a few extras that weren't mentioned in the ad.
Won't touch it now till next weekend when it'll get a good clean and the rest of the decals removed. See what we're playing with bodywork wise

Pretty sure I’ve seen you posting on the Ignis Sport owners group on Facebook, good to see the stickers coming off?!
I picked one up on Friday evening for the sum of £740! Mines black but I too had to get the hair dryer out to remove a Betty Boop sticker from the c pillar.
It’s an absolute riot to drive with lift off oversteer on demand, nippy acceleration and a firm old school ride reminiscent of my old Saxo VTS. It seems to sip fuel and feels pretty solid with 105k under its wheels.
Do you have any plans for the car? I’m going to touch up the wheels on mine and run it as a cheap daily for as long as it is reliable. If an exhaust backbox comes up cheap I may well put that on in place of the generic ‘pattern’ replacement the previous owner fitted to mine. It’s also missing the front recaros as these have been replaced by what appear to be the seats from a 1.3! Still, I needed a car quickly and this was by far the most interesting, semi sensible semi tidy thing for the money.

Hi yes I'm on there and in the sisoc forum aswell. This was a absolute bargain tbh.
The backbox will like you say be a generic pattern part. Best bet for exhaust is a custom one. Second hand ones come up regular on the ignis page.
Again there's plenty being broken on the page. A set of seats will pop up. They are rather comfy.
I've left it at my parents now until next weekend when I'll get upto it. Removal of more decals and a good wash is in order then mechanical check up results of that will determine plans.

Getting a good one now is getting harder. Yes the optional front fogs and suzuki sport mesh grill are fitted. Also has a imported tanabe stainless exhaust which sounds the dogs b
ks!
The advert wasn't good. Not much description, pictures were bad. As soon as I spoke to the seller. I knew it was worth persuing. Decals have to go. I'll deal with any paintwork issues afterwards.

Ok sorry for no pictures.
Had it in work today for a check up and see exactly what the state of play is...... I can report zero rust it's still red underneath not bad for a 14 Yr old/120k mile Jap car.
Mechanically it needs
Two front tyres
N/s cv boot
Two Front top mounts although not urgent
Radiator is leaking
Front shocks feel very soft although ill reaccess after top mounts have been changed
There will be pictures tomorrow as I'm pulling the decals off and going to give it a wash see what the rest of the paint is like.

Thought I'd give it a update. Finally got to spend some time and bit of money on it.
All decals have been removed. I've also pulled the rear wiper off and in process of debadging the rear.
Paintworknks by no means perfect but definitely a marked improvement. I've started to cut and Polish the bodywork up as best as I can. I'll be honest I'm no professional but nothing to lose as its pink anyway.
Also bought a driveshaft, new radiator and cusco upper brace with bcs add on.
Tiger seal has been liberally applied to the broken boot trim and will be refitted shortly.
Two tyres will make there way onto the front and wheels will be sent off for powdercoating gloss black
