Suzuki Swift Sport - My first car

I've just bought my first car, thought I'd share with the PH masses.
After considering many cars, I stumbled across this, went to view it, a few hours later I'm the proud owner of a 2007 Suzuki Swift Sport!
Specs are as follows:
Janspeed exhaust system
Simota Air Intake
Apex lowering springs
Cosmetically it's been debadged from the rear, pressed rear plate, JDM style plate up front smoked rear tail lights (which I wasn't keen on from the ad, but changed my opinion upon viewing), smoked side repeaters, front wind deflectors and the alloys have been refurbished.
The car is fantastic and I couldn't be more pleased. More pictures in due course!

Yes, I'm chuffed to bits! I spent hours scouring through the ads, with the criteria being a car that's good to drive, whilst being different to your usual 1.2 Corsa's etc, and above all - something I can fit in. I'm 6"5 with a size 15 shoe. In the Swift, I have plenty of room inside, with headroom to spare. It feels a class bigger than it is.
Plans for the the car are to check the valve clearance, look into getting a double din head unit installed, getting it mapped to make the most of the mods, uprated break pads, and possibly Koni shocks when the current shocks needs replacing. Other than that, I'm going to enjoy it.

I’m looking at a Swift Sport for my nephew that is stock except for a sports exhaust.
He loves the sound!

I’ve been looking at online and whenever I tick the ‘yes’ to modifications it allows me to choose from a long list of mods but none have an ‘exhaust’ option to choose.
They only have bodykits, spoilers, wheels, engine mapping and chips etc.
Is a new sports exhaust actually regarded as a modification?

The exhaust is regarded as a modification and will need to be declared as such. Did your nephew get the Swift in the end?
The modifications actually lowered my premium by around 20%, due to getting specialist insurance for modified cars.
Get a quote from MCE/Adrian Flux. You may well be surprised!
5 month/3000 mile update.
The car has been faultless so far. It is great fun to drive, being able to have fun whilst not travelling at silly speeds.
Running costs wise, I got the car serviced not long after I bought it for peace of mind, and a fresh set of Goodyear's up front last week.
I've been averaging 35mpg, which is a mix of London stop/start traffic and duel carriage ways. Highest has been 37mpg on a run to the Midlands, sitting at 0.8-0.9 leptons. Worst I've gotten is 32mpg, driven as intended. Not bad in my books!
Generally the car is very well received from other motorists. The Corsa Limited Edition "brigade" seem to hate it for reasons I can't gather, always wanting to prove a point!

Love these, was really considering one for myself but wasn't in budget for me due to insurance. How is it on the motorway? I understand that in top gear (5th or 6th) they rev quite highly, which affects fuel. Granted, my C1 gets 55mpg city and 65mpg motorway but, at 3.5krpm at 70mph, it isn't the most comfortable thing. Would consider changing out to this as well.
How is the stock stereo as well?

It sits at around 3.8k at 70mph. Anything over 4.2k, the VVT engages, and there's a noticeable increase in engine noise, which can be intrusive, along with a drop in fuel economy. Though I'd imagine 40-42mpg should be achievable if kept below 4.2k revs. They also require a diet of 98+RON, which is something to keep in mind.
There is a fair bit of road and wind noise, which the aftermarket exhaust on mine doesn't help. So whilst it isn't exactly refined, I travelled 250 miles in 2 days and was pleasantly surprised, and didn't step out with a broken back, or burst eardrums.
I've been informed that the 6 speed 2012+ models are much better on the motorway with a noticeable step up in refinement, with the added bonus that they can run on regular unleaded. I'd imagine either model would be a step up from your C1 regardless.
The stereo, whilst not the best, is certainly adequate in my opinion.

Understandable that there is quite a bit of road noise, it is a Japanese supermini in the end but I would imagine it is considerably better than my C1, which lets water in at the car wash. Very surprised at how it takes super unleaded only, the A6 we have needs super unleaded due to being a 3.0T to prevent knock, but very surprised that it is needed on this as well. Does it not take normal unleaded?
3.8k is a bit high, but it is not half the rev range, I believe the engine revs out to 7K plus.
How does it handle? Some reports say it is pin sharp, others say it has considerable roll. I ideally would want something that sticks quite hard to the ground with little roll, which had me thinking about a Mini Cooper S for a replacement, or a Clio RS 197.
Overall sounds impressive and liveable with as a daily, but I need something that handles well and is fun to drive, with good performance, but can also do 4-5 hour trips, as that could well be my situation in a years time. Right now I am confined to the city, which is what the C1 is designed for and handles well in.
