BMW 3.0 CSL - total nut-and-bolt restoration

Hello there,
Let me be clear - this is not a thread about my own car but having seen the photos in the album below I couldn't resist putting a link to them here. Apologies if they have already featured in the past, as this was a restoration from 2012 onwards.
Rick Dickinson died this week. Not a familiar name for most and I never knew the man either but his influence permeated my youth as he was the designer of the Sinclair ZX80/81 and Spectrum computers amongst many other industrial items.
Reading through one of Rick's obituaries this week I found myself on his Flickr page, within which is this amazing pictorial record of his BMW 3.0 CSL restoration project. It had clearly been in the family for some time before receiving the attention it deserved and I am so pleased he completed it. That he did most of the work himself speaks volumes about the man who I would doubtless have enjoyed a pint with had circumstances allowed. I wouldn't have thought that an E9 was suitable for a home restoration due to its complexity, but I'm fascinated that in most stages of the restoration, Rick can be seen working in some of the photos. Perhaps it was a home restoration? Total respect to him 
If you click on "Other albums" in the top left corner, you can see albums of other cars he has owned such as a TR6 and a BMW M6 too.
