Hi everyone just brought a mk4 golf 1.8t it's a minter brought of my dad for 1000 pounds full service history the body work is mint also the engine bay only done 90k got some big plans for it her are some pics already on kw coilovers

Hi bud my plan is just brought some new Porsche twist remap got a front mount intercooler I want to chuck on silicon hoses and some more engine mods looking at around 240bhp also just got some recaros out of a Honda dc2 that I am going to put in

Best thing I ever did to mine was an R32 front Anti Roll bar - the KW coilovers had the required 4wd strut mount as the ARB goes under the driveshaft rather than a loop over, and a 28mm Neuspeed Rear ARB. Also had upper and lower S3 strut braces, made for a very good cross country toy.

Miss mine, sold with 240k on the clock, current owner just MOT'd it with 319k

Sk00p you sound like you know your stuff that's the only down side on the mk4 is the handling but you think that will help

if your looking power put the standard airbox back in with a green cotton panel filter. smooth out the baffles and remove the intake mesh from inside the airbox. then fit a big duct from the lower vent to the airbox.

the standard system is proven to produce more power over bolt on filters to around 350-400 BHP.

Well I thought it was great, hardly any body roll and stuck like glue. You could provoke the back if you wanted with lifting off but it wasn't really what the car was about for me. Ride was very firm though! Also had powerflex bushe at the back and TT solid rubber ones at the front.

Mine was also running an LPG conversion for a good chunk of it's life.

Looks nice mate, just got back into a MK4 myself.

With regard to the air filter I agree with the poster above and would put the standard airbox back on. When I put a cone on my old AUM, it sounded better but it lost performance compared to stock.

I'm busy tidying it up at the moment as it has suffered a few years of cosmetic neglect. Once I've fixed up the rough areas I will be looking to relieve a bit more power from the 1.8T.

Of course this is a car I shouldn't be spending money on... but this is PH
